A sign reading "Welcome to Obamaville Colorado's Fastest Growing Community" appeared at a homeless tent city in Colorado Springs this week.
You probably didn't hear about it because outside of two Colorado television stations nobody found this newsworthy.
By contrast, when word got out in March of a tent city in Sacramento, California, news media couldn't get enough of the story.
Is it because that happened so soon after Inauguration Day that it could easily be blamed on George W. Bush, and that given the name given to this area that's no longer possible?

The Denver NBC affiliate hasn’t posted the story. They are in the tank for Mr. O and have been since the DNC Convention.
The MSM is so predictable. Approximately 30 minutes after GW Bush took office in January 2001, homelessness became rampant by the number of news stories suddenly addressing the topic.
Media just doing its job, as usual - getting liberals elected and keeping them in office.
I pass this area every day and have stopped a couple of times to bring these guys some things (as much as I can in these terrible times). The area is right near a veteran's center, sandwiched between I-25 and the river. Most of them have been there since last year.
A lot of these people are veterans and are there to access the vet medical clinic nearby. One guy closest to the freeway raises and lowers the American flag each day on a makeshift pole. I doubt sincerely that these signs displayed in the article could have been created or paid for by any of these folks. Likely, they were placed there by people with an agenda other than helping these needy and deserving folks survive what has so far been a brutal winter.
What's needed here are blankets and food and prayers. Not disingenuous crap and lies. These folks have been used and discarded enough.

At first posters presumed it was a sign costing over a hundred dollars, but later in the the thread, someone said that THIS same identical sign is found at various American tent cities, and that it is available ONLINE to download.

In fact, that was even more obvious gratuitous Bush-bashing than the question supposes. That "tent city" (of about 20 tents) in Sacramento had been there for at least thirty years. The MSM was careful to never take a picture from more than like 50 feet away to show how small it really was.
It's been below freezing during the day for a week. I think last night was our first night above zero in the same time. I pass by this place twice a day and it simply breaks my heart. I don't have the means to do much.
You have to admire the resiliency though. The one guy I mentioned, with the flag, found himself a barbeque grill recently...:-)
Sacramento Tent City self-ping: A source no less than The Nation notes “As early as 1989, dozens of homeless were pitching tents on the precise site of this year’s Tent City in Sacramento.”
Odd that that was never mentioned in the thousands of articles about it this summer. I guess sometimes there just isn’t quite enough space for minor details like that.

‘Obamaville’ - the new ‘hometown, U.S.A.’

Actually, the guy who made the sign (not the guy who paid the 150.00 to have it made) has replaced the sign with one that says they need food and sterno.
Because you stop there, I’m sure you’ve seen it.
If the Obama sign is still there, a personal photo from you would be nice.
The signature ... very nice.
Prehaps someone who passes by daily dropped it by.
Well, IF the sign had not been made and displayed, literally Hundreds of Thousands of people would not know about it. And I would venture that out of those Hundreds of Thousands a few will send those folks help. So if you are calling the sign disingenuous then maybe its time for reflection.
The basic rule of advertising is you got to tell thousands to get hundreds to answer your call. The guy who made the sign is waaaay ahead of the game! (I am sure some nice liberals stole liberated the sign to keep Barry Hussein's reputation unsullied.)
