Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

More truth for you - I wasn't arguing. I asked you to show me where you THINK I was. No response to that - just another accusation. Why is it you call my posts preaching - what do you "there is no choice' call yours?

Thin skinned comes to mind.

I'm sorry you're so angry at me. I thought we were on the same side in this Genesis thing.

The "new testament" claims to be inspired. Chr*stianity claims to be true. So does islam, sikhism, and just about every religion/philosophy out there. They all believe they're true. But that doesn't make them true.

I understand that you believe in chr*stianity and the "new testament." But you're believing doesn't make it true. Everybody believes his religion is true.

Why don't you and I just stick to defending Genesis? Otherwise we just agree to disagree.

I found it quite amusing that Resty posted “amazing grace” since the LDS church a) does not sing it b) does not believe the doctrines the song teaches (either the wretch or salvation (CK) by grace thru faith).

Contrary to your accusations, Resty, we do not take things out of context or spin. We simply tell the truth about what the LDS church believes and (in cases like mine)our experiences both being LDS and Christian.

We simply tell the truth, something your leaders in SLC SHOULD be doing, yet fail to.

Earth is NOT a “probationary state” is it, the only chance we have to be reconciled to God is here on earth, we will not “progress” to godhood, nor did we ever exist prior to our coming here. Those are all heresies the LDS church teaches.

And yes, the Lord’s patience is great, since he didn’t zap JS right after

How can you, Resty, trust a God who keeps throwing out “spiritual red herrings”?

My God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You should meet Him.

lacks patience towards those who are non believers, trouble and lost but is that doing the will of the Lord or the will of the natural man when is in this state no different than the one who is lost?

I think I have shown incredible patience toward you, Resty.

I say this sincerely, not mocking in any way.

People on FR supported Rudy and abortion. It’s not that hard if you think about it.

And complained that conservatives had "had your foot on our necks for too long" and they weren't going to let conservatives "make abortion and guns the big issues this time around."

The navel is the remnant of the umbilical cord. Not only would Adam and Eve not have needed one, but neither would there first five children who were conceived and then born in a matter of minutes on the Sixth Day of Creation. The nine month gestation period which calls for the umbilical cord was a punishment for Eve's sin.

However, the important point is that we believe in the Creator.

I can't agree if you're trying to siphon all factual/historical accuracy out of Genesis and turn it into a purely "religious" work as so many do.

I think I'm might be directing my question to the wrong person.  Did HOCNDOC state the 5 children/6th day statement or you?

Genesis 1:20-31

20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky." 21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." 23 And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.

24 And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so. 25 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [b] and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

27 So God created man in his own image,
       in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so.

31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.

So just WHERE are these FIVE kids?  In HERE??

I do not find them HERE; either...

Genesis 2:1-31

1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array.

2 By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested [a] from all his work. 3 And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

Adam and Eve

4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created.
When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens- 5 and no shrub of the field had yet appeared on the earth [b] and no plant of the field had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth [c] and there was no man to work the ground, 6 but streams [d] came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground- 7 the LORD God formed the man [e] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

8 Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

10 A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. 11 The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin [f] and onyx are also there.) 13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush. [g] 14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Asshur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

15 The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."

18 The LORD God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field.
But for Adam [h] no suitable helper was found. 21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs [i] and closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib [j] he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

 23 The man said,
"This is now bone of my bones
       and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called 'woman, [k] '
for she was taken out of man."

24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

25 The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

I guess all five of them kids died!

Genesis 3:20
Adam [c] named his wife Eve, [d] because she would become the mother of all the living.

Maybe it's one of them 'supressed memory' things from her PRESBYTERIAN days.

Or REpressed...

or Posessed...

She knows that. That's why there NEVER is any showing of just HOW we've taken them out of context.

Simply accusing us of something is NOT sufficient to prove the FACT of it.

How can it be sung in sacrament. It isn’t in your hymnbook.

Yeah, the MOTab has sung it, but the LDS still don’t believe it.
