Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

Yes, Bill Clinton is obviously a candidate for a new species.

You mean accepted propaganda; there is no science involved in evolution.

arris wore a Natural Selection T shirts on the day of the rampage. They were influenced by evolution. Evolution didn’t make them do it. They are responsible themselves.

“As he walked into the school the morning of April 20, Harris’ T-shirt read: Natural Selection.

Klebold, on the other hand, was anxious and lovelorn, summing up his life at one point in his journal as “the most miserable existence in the history of time,” Langman notes.

Harris drew swastikas in his journal; Klebold drew hearts.

As laid out in their writings, the contrast between the two was stark.

Harris seemed to feel superior to everyone — he once wrote, “I feel like God and I wish I was, having everyone being OFFICIALLY lower than me” — while Klebold was suicidally depressed and getting angrier all the time. “Me is a god, a god of sadness,” he wrote in September 1997, around his 16th birthday.

Klebold also was paranoid. “I have always been hated, by everyone and everything,” he wrote.

On the day of the attacks, his T-shirt read: Wrath.”

Once Crick and company had decided they'd discovered DNA Crick supposedly said "So that's how they did it".

Can't hardly get no more scientific than DNA ya' know.

Other "they"s have been studying the heck out of DNA ever since ~ and the way it works gets complexier and complexier every time they look.

So what you mean there's no science in evolution? DNA is its engine if anything is.

There are still folks out there running about hands in the air shouting "I ain't no monkey's uncle" and yet the DNA in their cells say they may well be, or if not a monkey's uncle, a horses uncle (90% congruence in fact).

"Sounds like another 'climate gate' scandal. Scientist and their 'proof'."

Yes, it is exactly like climategate, and they're not scientists, they're evolutionists; adherants to a twisted religious philosophy. Evogate if you will.

Rachel Scott was not murdered because she was a Christian. Just like Sholes (sp) was not murdered because he was black and an athlete.

Check the facts, videos, transcripts on this. Cassie Bernall was not the student who was asked if she believed in God even though that story was perpetrated for years and her parents wrote a book on it. Rachel Scott was not murdered because she was a Christian. Shules (sp) was not murdered because he was black or an athlete.

Anyone familiar with the agenda of the left to de-christianize this country through corrupting our children's education. That's who!

Good Lord! The point has completely zipped by you 2 without leaving a hint of its passing. What in the world does Phelps being a democrat have to do with anything? Premise #1, Phelps claims to be a Christian. GGG claims to be a Christian (and I believe he is). Premise #2, Phelps baits other Christians and non-Christians to hear his point by making outrageous statements. GGG, in posting to News/Activism, added to the titles of his articles with outrageous comments designed to bait Christian scientists, evolution believing Christians, and non Christians. Logical conclusion, GGG acted like Phelps WITH REGARD TO HIS POSTINGS. I’m not comparing him to Phelps in any other way, although many would consider the YEC aspect as almost as much as a fringe matter as Phelps overall views. Sheesh!

>> you haven't been reading the latest crevo threads because that's EXACTLY what I was told because I believe the Bible, that I wasn't a Christian but rather a cultist, by someone who claimed to be a Christian himself. And he included other YECers in that.

Well metmom, if you can find the link, let me know, because that's the first instance I've seen on FR of someone who believes in evolution saying those intrepret the bible literally are "not Christian". On other hand, I avoid the crevo threads because they contain dozens of threads where anyone who believes in evolution and posts there is immediately attacked as a godless heathen. Seems to me alot of the creationists here bash ANY Christians who don't think the way they do and deny their faith in Christ. 90% of praticing Christians in the world should not be "allowed" to call themselves that no matter how much they dedicate their life to Christ and the bible, according to the YEC defition of "Christian"

To me, ANYONE who believes in the basics of the Nicene creed is a Christian (Jesus died for our sins, trinity is father, son, and holy spirit, etc.). And I would certainly include YCE's and those who interpret the bible literally as perfectly good Christians, though I agree with Behemoth the Cat that they makeup a small minority of hardcore protestant factions, and their views on earth's origins are not reprsentative of Christians as a whole in the world.

>> I disagree with your use of "fundamentalist" to refer to the YEC crowd. It doesn't, and several decades prior to the Scopes trial didn't, and even where used in the sense you used it was used only among a small group. I think we need to take the terms back into normal use. <<

Well, I apologize for any offense but it is common place today to lump everyone of the YEC mindset into the "fundamentalist Christian" label and I'm not sure what other label would be appopiate. I would agree that really hard-core traditionalist Catholics like Opus Dei wouldn't fit my definition of "fundamentalist Christian", even if they didn't believe in evolution. To me, a fundamentalist Christian is always a strict protestant who interprets the bible literally. What definition would you use?

I would also add that I stand by my statements that many who deny others are "Christian" do so because they have a narrow view of the world and live in a region where 90% of the people they encounter are in the same denomination as them. That's why you see stuff on FR about how Catholics "never read the bible during their mass" (I've never been to a mass without a bible reading) and how "only Catholics pray to Mary" (this is certainly news to the 300 million Orthodox Christians in the world who have been doing that since the earliest days of Christianity).

DNA is what God put in place to prevent evolution, and it has worked perfectly!

No evolution has ever occurred; God’s creation has carried through satan’s storm. Yes, the fallen angels did corrupt it, but the Genesis judgement killed off all their progeny.

I know what the media is saying and I’ve read all the reports.

If Harris had a Christian type tshirt on, would you think he murdered in cold blood his fellow students/peers because he was following some Christian teachings?

Of course not.

He wore a tshirt that said Natural Selection and you think this is pertinent? You gotta be kidding me. If he wore an AC/DC shirt or any rock tshirt, would rock music be the influence?

They weren’t influenced by evolution or the Theory of Evolution. What a silly thing to say.

They were cold blooded killers. They had no respect for life, and were concerned only with their own importance in the world, and they killed themselves like cowards do. They had a self inflated ego, self centered, no respect for human life, and planted bombs that didnt go off because they wanted immense carnage.

Oh yeah. Klebold was lovelorn.

GMAFB.

What does Christianity have to do w/a narrow view of the world?

Matthew 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Luke 13:24 "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
