Three months ago, I joined a number of Americans in urging President Obama to provide the resources necessary to achieve our goals in Afghanistan. Tonight, I am glad he mostly heeded that advice........

Shut up you racist.
I'm positive you meant to type, "Shut up, you racist.", as I am sure you, having called someone a nimrod, are fully versed in the rules of grammar. I'm thrilled to see you typed it calmly, ending the sentence with a period, instead of excitedly and ending the sentence with an exclamation point. It's unusual to find someone who can calmly and falsely accuse random strangers of racism.

HA! DUers must have blood shooting out of their eyes right now. Nice way to chip away at his base support. Brilliant!

Go find a dictionary, and find out what “victory” means.
It’s not too hard.
To: offduty
“Heads must be exploding right now over at DU.”
That’s a good point. Given DU’s control over the Democrats, I would not be surprised if a few (key people) give Obama the finger when it is time for the critical health care votes...just because he pleased Sarah.

We should be in Afghanistan to win, not to set a timetable for withdrawal that signals a lack of resolve to our friends, and lets our enemies believe they can wait us out.
I agree with this statement. I admit when I first started skimming through what she wrote and I said “I agree with President Obama” I was pretty shocked, saying “No I cant believe she is agreeing with him” but then I read the rest of it and saw what she meant

OK you want a simple definition, it’s this. When my commanders in the field tell me that we’ve achieved our objectives; the Afghan security forces can take over security, we can start an orderly withdrawal of US combat forces, and we won’t have to re-deploy. That is what I’d call victory. The decision is a military one, not a political one.

I repeat again, what is victory in Afghanistan, there is childish victory like, we won the foot ball game, now what is victory in Afghanistan. What set of events happen to have a pronouncement of victory in Afghanistan.

Someone appears to have gotten ahold of Shaft29’s account. These posts tonight are not at all like their posting history.

Heads must seriously be exploding over there. Can you imagine what they must be saying “OMG Obama, you got Sarah Palin agreeing with you” watch his poll numbers plummet tomorrow in his own base. I don’t think he pleased Sarah with what he said tonight. Al.B is right. She is at a book signing tonight, she probably just read the transcript. She should have noticed the bottom where he did not bless our troops

I think she said what she had to say.
“We’re in it to win it.” Well, that may not be Obama’s position, but it’s hers.
Finally, Obama came through with the troops. No harm in giving him credit for finally doing that almost right.
Then she goes on to say that we can’t set an exit deadline. Well, Obama just did. In other words, she is disagreeing with him, but politely.
The problem is that if she really let’s fly and says what we all think—that this is a strategy to lose—that will only encourage the enemy EVEN MORE.
Yet I think she had to say something. Really there was no good response to this idiot/Communist/Muslim in the White House.

I repeat, the meaning of the word “victory” as it pertains to any war, is right there in the dictionary.
It’s neither a secret or a mystery.
Go read it.

So you and palin are calling for nation building!!
Same BS we heard in Vietnam. At least you did not say piece with dignity.
To: rabscuttle385; shaft29
It seems someone has hijacked Shaft29’s account this evening. Their posting history is nothing like the posts they’re making tonight.

Governor Palin is Ronald Reagan in a skirt! That is why nimrod lightweight trolls hate her! And I love Sarah Palin too! Her book is a great read!

:-) I couldn’t resist having a little fun.
I love Sarah and she is very much like President Reagan. I hope she runs in 2012. Am reading her book now.
