“And one lesson from Helms is that he was the most conservative of 100 Senators and yet won reelection over multi-million dollar Demo campaigns in what was billed at the most liberal of the southern states.”

Great point!!

You make some good points.

Conservatives need to be able to communicate to these people..one on one, to educate and make that connection.

Their values are there. They need help getting away from the Left’s stereotyping of the conservative.

I hate that America has a ruling class. It wasn’t supposed to be that way...but it’s what we’ve come to.

Call it what you will, but I've seen a few on here really pushing hard a partyline.

I have too. And I suspect (but cannot prove) that they are professional operatives trying to astro-turf support for Romney/Pawlenty/Huck and the National GOP. Almost every one of these "party-over-principle" losers have been either taking subtle jabs at, or just outright slammed Sarah Palin, calling her "damaged goods" or "unelectable."

Yes, and I hope that goes for the anti war type on FR who parrot the views of the far left.

Uh oh!

You're gonna offend some "true blue conservatives" with that one.

I got it Jim, are you ready to endorse Sarah Palin yet?? I am officially endorsing Sarah Palin this morning for President of the United States of America. I have called a press conference but so far no media have showed up.

Thanks for what you do Jim...thumbs up :)

How is Pawlenty a “faux conservative”?

Pawlenty Raises "Moderate" Flag at RGA (We've got another McCainiac RINO in our midst)

GOP Governors Pull the Plug On Palin's Press Conference (The RGA Dirt)

"Pawlenty, by contrast, rejected the “return to our conservative roots” theme of others at this conference and said,“GOP principles must be harmonized with outreach to the new demographics of America,” “the GOP is fifteen years behind in the use of technology and the Internet,” “the GOP needs more than a political comb-over,” and “voters don’t want our Party led by a crank.” Unsure of to whom Pawlenty was referring in that last comment, there were some gasps from the crowd."

There is one problem with banning talk of the RHINOS...This is the only forum that educates many lurkers on the difference between a rhino and a conservative.

I would not ban the romney/gulliani threads because the posts discussion helps educate many people who need the clarifications.

I want the end result of the Obama fiasco to be the unelectability of another democrat to the Presidency for at least twenty years!

The gullability of over half the American people is mind-boggling. Hopefully, this headlong plunge into the depths of socialism and fascism will open a few eyes and force people to start THINKING about who it is they are voting for!

“We can only hope that nobody finds anything impure about Sarah Palin, or we’ll be left voting for the tooth fairy.”

If you check Sarah PAC contributions, you will see she donated to McCain, Hatch, Graham, and a liberal female whose name escapes me at the moment.

How is Pawlenty a “faux conservative”?

He's just another GOP elitist, has governed as a moderate-RINO in Minnesota, and if you want another example, Governor Sarah Palin (who is a conservative's conservative), didn't have to dilly dally around to figure out who to endorse in New York District 23 (Doug Hoffman), but Pawlenty weaseled out of taking a stand with the excuse that he hadn't been paying attention, i.e. "I just don't know anything about it" (EXACT QUOTE), and if Pawlenty thinks he has a Chinaman's chance in Hell of being the GOP nominee, he BETTER know "something about it".

Need more? Minnesota's fiscal situation has NOT improved under Pawlenty's tenure, and the last time he was elected, he demonstrated that he has NO coat tails to speak of, as he actually LOST Republican officials when the tally was done.

You like Pawlenty? Move to Minnesota and tell him to keep his ass right there.
