The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night criticized Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) for voting against the Democrats signature healthcare bill.
We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill, Jackson said at a reception Wednesday night. You cant vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.
Davis, who is running for governor, is the only black member of Congress from Alabama.
He is also the only member of the CBC to have voted against the healthcare bill earlier this month.
Davis referred to Jacksons 1988 run for president in a statement, issued through his office, that said he would not engage Jackson on his criticism.
One of the reasons that I like and admire Rev. Jesse Jackson is that 21 years ago he inspired the idea that a black politician would not be judged simply as a black leader, Daviss statement said. The best way to honor Rev. Jacksons legacy is to decline to engage in an argument with him that begins and ends with race.
Jackson said later that he "didn't call anybody by name and I won't."...
...Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas) said each man was doing what he considered the right thing.
"People have a right to vote their constituency, and people have a right to speak their conscience," Jackson-Lee said. "Both happened."

Let me get this straight, the Obama supporters voted him in for free gas, free mortgage payoffs, free money and now Jesse wants free medical care too? Geeeez, lots of free stuff when you vote Democrat! I’m registering, I want some of that free stuff too.
“You can’t pass a KFC without going in and call yourself a black man” (same thing)
Oh, sure you can. It’s easy.
Stealth reparations. That is those words describes Obama’s as Obama’s whole agenda and covers, stimulus, health care and cap and trade. Now, after this prick has ruin the econo my and dug the government into a deep hole, he comes back from Asia and starts this bullshit about deficits. The deficit he is mostly responsible for creating.
Jesse, why not humor me?
What does a government takeover of healthcare and "being a black man" have to do with each other? Who gave the signal that being "black" meant being for this power-grab?
If you, Jesse Jackson, can coherently explain what you're talking about, I'm all ears.
I’ve been chastised for saying that EVERY policy agenda item of 0bama’s has been stealth reparations.
Sorry, I’m long past suppressing the truth in order not to appear to be rude.
I don’t the JJ has the power he once did. He jumped the shark years ago.
I would like to vote against the Healthcare and call myself a white man.
That's par for Jesse Jackass.
Con-artist, scammer, extortionist par excellence, adulterer, bastard daddy...
Did I miss anything?
When JJ or that Cowardly Lion-looking whackoff fellow phony Rev. Sharpton open their facial anuses to talk, I’m reminded of a Biblical verse (in Proverbs?) The gist of it is that the world cannot last long after the fools are made the kings.....
hypocrite, race-baiter, anti-white, anti-Jewish, socialist...
I was thinking the same thing. Is he saying that all black people need to be taken care of? Sounds like slavery to me.
Jessie Jackson is the Emperor of Black people, didn’t you know that?
