“The only problem is to get a large crowd we have to go on a weekend because we are the producers of this country.”
I wonder exactly what has to be happening in this country, what hell we have to be facing in order for conservatives to take a freeking VACATION DAY/SICK DAY/DAY OFF????
It’s no longer an excuse.
Thanks.

We are in GOOD SHAPE. So many of you are asking what I am smoking. True enough, I would have preferred this die in the house but let's look at what happened:
1. The bill passed 220 - 215, hardly a screaming mandate. So what that a DIABLO voted for it, 37 DEMOCRATS DEFECTED to our 2...so we hammer out the 2 republicans, get conservative in and move on. Fine.
2. The senate has to act on it, and they are not going to act until after the first of the year, if they act at all. The best thing for the senate is to delay it, because once this garbage hits 2010, it is an election year baby, and NO ONE will want this hung around their neck.
3. This thing CANNOT get through the senate if, in fact, Lieberman is going to join the republican filibuster. No republican, even Snowe and Collins will vote for cloture, so this thing dies in the filibuster in the senate (Probably comes up well short of cloture because Byrd has indicated he would filibuster as well if he can be present to vote). What this means is that there is only, at best, 58 votes for cloture, this thing mever gets off the ground in the senate. If you want history, look at cap and trade, this passed the house by an almost identical margin and has languished in the senate, and will likely not get out. No senate vote, no conference committee, no bill, no problem.
4. Reid is in the fight of his life to keep his seat. He really does not want to see this SOB pass. San Fran nan is safe, but Reid is not. It is a lot more fun being the senate majority leader than the head of the Kiwainis in freaking searchlight, Nevada.
Remember the house of representin' is the place where emotion can surge and all sorts of crazy stuff can happen, but the senate is the "cooling plate" of the legislative process. I think that the senate will not be able to bust through a bipartisan filibuster. Now the news will mindlessly pant this great victory, but this is far from over, and, I believe, likely will not see any further action. WAY to many democrats up for election in conservative states, and remember, two big Obama states just threw democrats out on their ass, everyone will remember that who has to vote for this freaking thing.
I am a physician, so my livelihood is on the line with this, but as disappointed as I am in the house vote, I think this thing dies in the senate, and that is the bottom line for tonight.
Remember, our government is awful, but it is the best way in the world to run a country, this too shall be OK...
Keep praying, turn your attention to the senate and melt their phone lines, and I bet anyone here a steak dinner that in six months, we will have the exact same health care system we have today, BUT, the blue dogs will be gone with the next election, because they have to defend what their party did. All in all for as much as this sucks, this will aid in the purge of rats from the congress...
So, during the lion's share of the campaign he was against the so-called public option, but on Sunday night, less than 30 hours before voting began, he changed his position, quietly. You mean those facts.
Like I said, he broke a campaign promise - Kerry style. He was against it before he was for it.
The amount that Medicare pays does not even cover the cost of seeing a patient.
What will happen is physicians will only see patients with minor medical problems.
You can see 3 patients in the time it will take to see one patient with complex medical problems.
You can make more money seeing one patient than 3.
The physicians who do not retire will do this.
Mark my words.
I heard tonight that the Democrat that won the NY23 voted for the HR 3962!

I agree with you. I wanted blood when I saw the “1” in the yea/Republican column, but after finding out who it is, not so much. I don’t blame him, honestly... but I do hate that Nazi Pelosi will say it was bipartisan.
Time to mute. The woman that shouldn’t still be breathing is about to run her mouth.
Whatever happened to making them read the bill on the floor?
To whom will the world turn when it hits the fac again in the future?
Which country will step up to offer a helping hand when the dictatorships are no longer bearable?
People will know that the US was a good country.
We have reached, or are quickly reaching, the tipping point in this country.
Same here. My urologist is pissed.

he wrote to me requesting a donation earlier this year...so he wants your money but not your comments...I used my correct name and address except for the state and zip and it went through...
send him a note....and then a phone call.....
True, they're all Dims. And they most always count up the votes and decide, when they are sure of enough votes, well, these Blue Dogs can vote against the bill, and these must vote for it. Then, when campaigning for re-election, Blue Dogs can claim to have voted against some number of bills that were unpopular in their districts, but that still passed.
And I do think the Republican who voted Yes is from a fairly heavily black district, and might have had permission to vote Yes if his vote would not matter, which if would not have.
It's just a game, so all Blue Dogs who can be defeated should be.
Yeah...and watch how “the new Lincoln” reacts to that.
Salamander, posting from an “occupied border state”.
Hear hear I second that let him drown!
Another failure by the Republican House leadership.
Thanks for the list!
While the nation mourns the victims of Ft. Hood, I am sure that Barry will be addressing the nation tomorrow from Camp David...after Queen Pelosi makes the talk show rounds. Their arrogance will be their doom.
The bottom line is that Hoffman damn near won and would have walked away with it if the 11 pub county leaders in NY27 had chosen Hoffman to begin with.
I hope the guy (McHugh?) who abandoned the office to go be zero’s army bitch drops dean tomorrow or zero fires him tomorrow and throws him away like a wad of used toilet paper.
Owens, Cao and a weak blue dog. That’s all it took, and the pubs allowing themselves to get sucker-punched by Bart Stupak and Nancy Pelosi. The pubs are so damn dim-witted they’re beyond embarrassing.
