KILL THE BILL
First Hand ^ | November, 6, 2009 | Just A Nobody

Posted on 11/06/2009 8:00:58 AM PST by Just A Nobody

While roaming the grounds of the US Capitol yesterday, Kristinn Taylor obtained a list of possible democrat defectors of the now infamous “Healthcare” bill.

Kristinn was asked to post this list of wobbly democrats on FreeRepublic in an effort to mobilize our forces and overwhelm these members with phone calls and e-mails asking them to vote NO on the socialization of our healthcare.

We also learned that Nancy Pelosi had just scheduled the vote for tomorrow;
Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 6:00 PM.

For all those who were unable to answer the call to surround the Capitol yesterday, here is an opportunity for you to help the cause, while those of us who were there, get some much needed sleep.

The message is short and to the point: KILL THE BILL!

the RCCP should announce NOW that EVERY GOP candidate in 2010 will run on a platform of voting to overturn the bill, if passed in any form..Make it a one issue race for House seats..we can’t lose..

Great idea! Write it up and send it to every member of the republican "leadership"

The reality is...the one thing that unites the right is it’s belief in small government. Social issue, among many other issues do have their importance, but ultimately the concept of small gov is what makes the right strong.

Will people have to take shifts protesting at the Capitol every day if necessary? Has it really come to this in America?

It is beginning to look that way.
We could divide the country into sectors with day/week/month assignments per sectors. ;*)

Thanks! I wish you could have been there, too.

I spoke to your friend several times yesterday. He called in for updates. We thought about trying to do dinner, but we were driving back to Ohio immediately following and it became too much to consider.

“The reality is...the one thing that unites the right is it’s belief in small government. Social issue, among many other issues do have their importance, but ultimately the concept of small gov is what makes the right strong.”

Good cartoon.

I’d add we agree on the need for strong national security, and while some of us disagree on some social issues, we’ll be respectful.

Would you ping this to any lists you might have?
ACTION ALERT

With handy, clickable contact information

Here are all the Blue Dog Democrats. The clickable links go to their online Message System. You can use this local district information --- City, State, Zip, and Area Codes-- to get through their spam filter. If they ask for a Zip+4, you can use any 4 digits added onto the indicated Zip Code.

The way I do it is, first copy all this information into a different (word) program. Then copy the line that has the city, zip, etc. for that particular district. The click the HTTP thingie to get into the Message System. Then paste the info. into one of the blanks, and point and drag the city, zip, etc. onto the correct lines.

Go get ‘em.

Here's just one of our several Don-o Family sample messages:

Abortion funding is insanely divisive and controversial ---and it is overwhelmingly opposed by YOUR CONSTITUENTS.

Vote against "the Rule." Pass the Stupak Amendment.

Or--- OK, let’s make it simple: vote against this whole bloated, 2,000-page, trillion-dollar, morbidly obese, constipated, herniated Hindenburg of a bill.

Because we really, really, really don’t want it.

Thank you very much.

FYI, Rep. Steve King of Iowa just announced on Andrew Wilcow’s radio show another rally for tomorrow, Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 on Capitol Hill.

If you can get there, please go.
This needs to be breaking news someplace.

Since Americans and North Dakotans all agree that we don’t want 0bummerCare, I request that you join your neighboring Congresswoman Sandlin of South Dakota and vote “NO” on 0bummerCare. It is anti-freedom and too expensive. Thank you very much.

Of course we do everything possible to stop the bill now - in fact, Rep. Steve King has called for another rally tomorrow, Saturday, at 1 pm at Capitol Hill. If anyone can attend, please go!

My larger point is this: letting the RATS vote on this and committing political suicide is likely great politics but it puts the nation at greater risk. If a bill gets to conference, the overwhelming likelihood is that something bad-to-horrible will ultimately get enacted into law.

Let’s suppose the RATS make a political misjudgment and enact sweeping health care reform. In reaction, let’s suppose that the American people throw them out of office and give the GOP a slight majority in the House and/or Senate following the 2010 midterms. Even if a future Congress repeals Pelosi-care, Obama is still sitting in the White House to VETO any such legislation. And we won’t have anywhere near the votes to override the veto.

So, my point is this: put politics aside and stop this monstrosity now. Our freedom is too important to take this political risk.

As to historical context, when was the last time that the Dept of Energy was abolished, or the Dept of Education, or any other federal mandates?
