Follow those races here. Report turnout, exit polls etc. as they happen..
I would point out to them that the GOP didn’t die during it’s lowest point, the great depression, so it’s not likely too now.
It took the massively divisive issue of slavery to last “kill” a major party (the Whigs).
DU should be entertaining to read after the Trifecta loss today.
NJ is the key - I’m pretty sure on the other two big races will go our way. Anything under two points I think the fraud in NJ might effect the outcome.
BUMP for later reading...
Yes, this area of the state is simply beautiful and the people are typically good, honest, conservative folks. With Smith Mountain Lake property becoming more & more expensive, we have had our share of infiltration by liberal northerners, though.
There has been a meticulously deliberate absence of reporting locally about the “white flight” from Roanoke proper. The City itself is so mismanaged and ineffective that many of these folks moved to outlying areas with more common sense and better administration. There is supposed to be a new city manager soon...I hope (s)he can fix some of the problems, but the problems do seem to be deeply entrenched. Anyone curious about Roanoke’s problems can go here and have a look-see:

Suffolk, VA was using a barcode scanner for VA driver’s licenses. But, as I recall seeing, the scanner wasn’t reading the new laser engraved IDs. Those people had to verify their address at the desk. Voted about 0615 and waited about 10 minutes. Ticket says I was #126!
No run-off in New Jersey.
My own rule of thumb is that it takes at least 5% in the Garden State to overcome the zombies, New York/Philadelphia bus-ins, and nursing home residents who don't remember their own names, never mind the names of the candidates. If Christie wins, it will be close.
You misspelled Mr. Sex Trajectory.
No I read it on the local news website. What it looks like is the people that voted absentee last time were still on the books as voting absentee this time.
They are writing names on a list and allowing them to vote. (I got this info from a Freeper that lives in that district)
No “civil war”......just a resurgence of the REAL Republican party.
####
Absolutely! And the demmedia will be blind to this resurgence.
Thank You! my Husband is really concerned about the election being stolen, I’ll have to tell him this.
Virginia democrat blogger Ben Tribbett twitters on “notlarrysabato”: “ALERT ALERT: REPUBLICAN PICKUP IN HOUSE OF DELEGATES NOW A MINIMUM OF SIX SEATS. ... SIX SEATS ARE GONE- ANOTHER NINE ARE IN PLAY FOR GOP PICKUP.”
This is especially important because these are the people who will be in office for the post-census redistricting.
4 people in my household voted and we all voted Republican straight down the line!
praying for Dem Underground Scanner-like head explosions!
Wonderful!!! :)
I was #248 1p
was anyone else offered the option of voting on a machine or paper ballot?
What do you call 300 volunteer lawyers at the bottom of the Delaware River?
Not much of a start, but a start nonetheless!
All that everyone has to agree to, and that our talking heads should speak in unison, is that the GOP will seek to nominate the most electable conservative in every race from coast to coast. That type of person will obviously vary from one state or district to another. The strategic objective is to build a conservative governing coalition.
Who can possibly object to this framework for a big tent?
