This whole line of discussion is so trite - and boring too.
All that everyone has to agree to, and that our talking heads should speak in unison, is that the GOP will seek to nominate the most electable conservative in every race from coast to coast. That type of person will obviously vary from one state or district to another. The strategic objective is to build a conservative governing coalition.
Who can possibly object to this framework for a big tent?

The Democrats, who will say that the Republicans have been taken over by radical extremists. But since the Democrats are dishonest, who cares what they say?
