(CNN) Meghan McCain says she's ready to quit Twitter all together after generating a wave of criticism from users of the popular social networking site Wednesday night for posting a picture of herself in a tank top that left little to the twitterverse's imagination.
The controversy began quietly enough when McCain, the vocal daughter of the former Republican presidential candidate, tweeted that her self described "spontaneous" night in included reading a biography of the iconic artist Andy Warhol and ordering takeout.
It was there the 24-year old McCain posted the photo of herself wearing a tank top that generated the subsequent controversy .

Just DAMN! LOL
THAT definition of yours I’ll agree with
LOL
LMAO!!!! Fantastic!!! Thanks for the heads up!!! I will have to catch the episode online...I don’t do cable.... ;)
heehee, she likes me. But I don’t like her. ;D
Oh.My.Gosh. What some people will stoop to!! (rolling eyes)
That's so shallow it is sad, but you want to keep making excuses for it.
“Id hit it means you would do it if given the chance - married or not, values or not, disease or not, lol - youd do it - Ok, maybe you dont see it that way but I think others do ...damn the consequences they would do anything to have a chance at it.”
The idea that they’d do anything to have a chance at it is off the mark. It’s always posed as “if you had the opportunity,” “if she fell into your lap,” if, if, if. All culminating in the idea that’s it’s completely outside of the normal course of reality, wherein women are not throwing themselves at strangers willy-nilly.
Believe me, for the vast majority of respondents, it’s all about her. Prevailing standards of sexual conduct and private conscience don’t enter into the equation. Outside of their conscience’s opinion of her conduct, that is. For instance, some people aren’t able to look past rumors or outright knowledge of promiscuity on her part. In that case, they go beyond her physical attractiveness. But never do they peer into their own hearts. It ruins the game.
But never will you hear someone say, “She’s an angel, and I’d love to make her my wife and raise children, but I can’t sleep with her, because it’s outside my character to have one-night stands.” It’s not part of the calculation.
You have this all figured out huh? Spend a lot of time dreaming about daking strangers? You are never going to realize that most people believe that anything you would be willing to do defines you. It does not matter how you describe it as fanatasy or that it never is going to happen - you are saying that if given the opportunity you would cheat on your wife, cheat on your kids, devalue yourself just to have sex - period. That is exactly what it means. I’m really sorry you can’t see that, but it really tells a lot that you are trying so hard to defend the actions of someone who would put all of their values aside just to have sex.
“You are just fishing for something that is similar and being king of the world is not even remotely like screwing some stranger”
The odds that someone will rise to that level, surely, is less likely than the chance that they’ll meet, let alone have a chance to bed, let alone have the certainty that they’re going to bed, a particular celebrity. It’s not like we’re comparing ruling the world to sleeping with a woman you work with.
“but you are stating that you’d give no regard to a persons hygiene, moral character, politics, attitudes or beliefs - nothing other than physical beauty and the fact that they have a vagina”
For some men, it is about character, sexual history, politics, etc. That enters into it. But mostly, yes, it’s about her physical beauty. And I hate to break it to you, but physical beauty is a big part of why men are sexually attracted to women. We can appreciate many things about a women, but when it comes to sex, it’s pretty primal.
Anway, it’s not about whether you’d marry her, or whether you’d be her boyfriend. It’s about would you hit it. Say what you will about the efficacy of the question, but when you involve my character and give added weight to her non-physical qualities, you alter the game. It’s like demanding we play soccer with our hands as well as our feet. It could still be fun, but it wouldn’t be soccer.
As I said, I”m sorry you can’t see your statements the way most people do - enjoy your fantasy sex. I have already homeschooled a teenage boy - I can’t spend much more time trying to get you to understand reality.
“That is exactly what it means. Im really sorry you cant see that, but it really tells a lot that you are trying so hard to defend the actions of someone who would put all of their values aside just to have sex.”
When are you going to realize it’s all about her, and at most the sexual taste of the man. If you don’t like questions that are beyond good and evil, I guess I can understand, but certainly in this case I think it’s a wild overreaction. You have this nagging tendency to add a sense of reality to the decision which just isn’t there. Again, it’s not a game of Scruples. It’s another version of “On a Scale of One to Ten...” Maybe everything to you is a game of Scruples, but not to me.
LOL you said what I have been thinking. :)
Seriously, these threads are proof that women civilize men. And we are apparently falling down on the job!
Fortunately, there are men out there who don’t think of women as something to “hit” or if they do, they have the manners to keep it to themselves. I really am always puzzled by the number of men in these threads who say, “I’d hit that”. Really, why do they feel the need to voice that? Do they think it’s funny? Are they trolling for dates? I’m really curious.
That is the difference that you aren’t seeing - you are making this fantasy when it is a straight up question of would you do it if given the chance - you can’t say you would do it but it won’t happen - it is would you do it? Would you kill someone? Would you steal? Would you cheat? That is exactly the question - it isn’t about how beautiful someone is, or about how men are different from women. If someone said “would you sleep with some idiot hollywood type” I’d say no - not ONLY because I know that would never be offered to me, but because I wouldn’t lower myself to screw some liberal halfwit - I’m not that desperate and never have been -
“No to sound trite and answer your veiled insult to my wife there is way more to a woman then her BMI or what Hugh Hefner or Perez Hilton thinks is attractive”
Wow, you’re defensive. I guess it doesn’t matter to you that I said exactly the same thing, in other words. All I said was that women whose waists go in will always be more attractive than women whose waists go out, all things being equal. The waist-to-hip ratio is the most important thing when it comes to curves. Which is why I brought it up in the first place. Not to denigrate overweight women, but to tell whoever’s convincing them they should be proud of their curves that curviness has little to do with whether or not you’re overweight. That’s all.
“and frankly never aesthetically bothered me what the woman looked like”
But you must realize there’s an aesthetic standard hardwired into men’s brains, for the purposes of procreation. And that the curve we’re looking for is the famed hourglass frame, running from the breasts to the waist to the hip. If your taste is not moved by this standard, fine. But you’re in the minority.
“To be stuck on what a woman’s body does to give you an erection is quite sophomoric”
I don’t know if I’m stuck on it. You never know what it’s good to have knowledge of, and I’ve heard that knowledge is an absolute good, anyway.
“I hope the women in your life aren’t as critical on you as you are on them.”
Yawn. It all comes back to people’s feelings, doesn’t it. We can’t possibly have an objective discussion of the matter. Must allow self-esteem experts and ad-men to tell women whatever they want, no matter the reality of the situation, so long as it’s not critical.
“’You know honey your not curvy, your fat..’ Does that sound as stupid to you as it does me?”
It doesn’t sound stupid at all. Fat people have curves, of course. Just like stupid people have brains. Except when we say someone has brains, we mean they’re intelligent. And when we say a woman has curves, we mean, or used to mean, that she has an hourglass figure. Or at least that her hips are relatively larger than her waist.
For the record, I don’t think we need to go around calling people fat. Nor do we need to go around telling them lies, whether it’s that they have big bones or that they are “curvy”.
I think it makes them think they’re cool and funny. They want to be young again. When some male says it too me I usually tell them maybe you’d hit her but I can assure you she wouldn’t hit you, except with a flyswatter. :)
It’s the denigration of the man that our society promotes. These guys are unwittingly falling right into the worldly trap.
You see, when men are denigrated to the point of animals,
then fathers are denigrated. When the father is neutralized, the family unit is neutralized. From the family, to the Church, from the Church to the society and the nation.
