“No to sound trite and answer your veiled insult to my wife there is way more to a woman then her BMI or what Hugh Hefner or Perez Hilton thinks is attractive”

Wow, you’re defensive. I guess it doesn’t matter to you that I said exactly the same thing, in other words. All I said was that women whose waists go in will always be more attractive than women whose waists go out, all things being equal. The waist-to-hip ratio is the most important thing when it comes to curves. Which is why I brought it up in the first place. Not to denigrate overweight women, but to tell whoever’s convincing them they should be proud of their curves that curviness has little to do with whether or not you’re overweight. That’s all.

“and frankly never aesthetically bothered me what the woman looked like”

But you must realize there’s an aesthetic standard hardwired into men’s brains, for the purposes of procreation. And that the curve we’re looking for is the famed hourglass frame, running from the breasts to the waist to the hip. If your taste is not moved by this standard, fine. But you’re in the minority.

“To be stuck on what a woman’s body does to give you an erection is quite sophomoric”

I don’t know if I’m stuck on it. You never know what it’s good to have knowledge of, and I’ve heard that knowledge is an absolute good, anyway.

“I hope the women in your life aren’t as critical on you as you are on them.”

Yawn. It all comes back to people’s feelings, doesn’t it. We can’t possibly have an objective discussion of the matter. Must allow self-esteem experts and ad-men to tell women whatever they want, no matter the reality of the situation, so long as it’s not critical.

“’You know honey your not curvy, your fat..’ Does that sound as stupid to you as it does me?”

It doesn’t sound stupid at all. Fat people have curves, of course. Just like stupid people have brains. Except when we say someone has brains, we mean they’re intelligent. And when we say a woman has curves, we mean, or used to mean, that she has an hourglass figure. Or at least that her hips are relatively larger than her waist.

For the record, I don’t think we need to go around calling people fat. Nor do we need to go around telling them lies, whether it’s that they have big bones or that they are “curvy”.

Sounds like you need to get l*id friend. You have woman issues, maybe bitter about the prom queen turning you down. Let it go.
