Behind the Scenes: Picturing Fetal Remains

[There are no graphic images in the article proper. They are accessed through a slide show only.]
The photographs are graphic and detailed, showing the fingers or toes of aborted fetuses whose entire frames are no bigger than a cellphone. Since the mid-1990s, they have appeared all over the country carried as posters by protesters, handed out with pamphlets or, in some cases, mounted like billboards on the sides of trucks.
Like many others, I often wondered about the source of these images. Who took the pictures? Where did the fetuses come from?
I had a chance to find some answers while reporting in late September on the death of James Pouillon, the anti-abortion protester who was shot and killed in Owosso, Mich. [See Saturday's presentation on the subject in The New York Times.]

Pray for righteous, godly advisors and “spiritual parents” to come into your life. I was so blessed with a couple, who made a great difference in my adult life.

Ooooh, the hard-hearted liberal snootery, ignorance and depravity -- the moral superiority of her expectations that genocide would be far from her, and only of persons of color! BTW, does she not know that Rwanda is a country, but Africa is a continent, of which Rwanda is a part?

Ha! I don't know. But you nailed it with "hard-hearted liberal snootery, ignorance and depravity."

I clearly recall the moment I became solidly pro-life. Being only 15 during the roe v/s wade decision, didnt have a clue about anything. Fast forward 10 years and I was on a business trip into St. Louis on the anniversary of R v Wade (didnt realize that until after) and there were people standing at stoplights and I thought crap....I dont have any money as I thought they were wanting donations. Anyway, as fate would have it, I was caught at one of the red lights and someone from a group walked over and handed a newspaper type paper to me; didnt ask for money or anything. When I looked at it, it contained graphic pictures of aborted fetuses piled in a dumpster in the back of a CA physicians practice. Those photos changed my view forever. Thats why the insane left has a fit every time billboards or posters or anything is shown......it just might change someones mind or as in my case (never thought anything about abortion to that point) bring stark reality into focus. Bless anyone who can expose the truth.
Wow, what a story ... so, in 1983, there were pro-lifers already handing out graphic photos? I didn't realize that. (The New York Times is a little tardy then?) --I wonder what Jesus will say to them for being some 36 years late. And you're sure right about why the left doesn't want these photos out there.

I dont think anything makes our LORD more sorrowful than this hideous act against our most innocent. May God use her work to his Glory.
I think you are correct. I shudder when I think of His plan to right these wrongs, because it's not going to be pretty. The beautiful holy innocents He's sent every day to the tune of thousands. How can He take it? I would have exploded long ago.

I visited Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry many times while I was growing up.(1950's - 60's) The exhibit of real human fetuses and embryos taught anyone with eyes that pro-aborts were lying in the 70's when they called preborns "blobs of tissue."
We probably passed each other on the escalators for I, too, was at the Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry during the 50s and 60s. I do not, however, remember seeing the real human fetuses, but I sure wished I had. There cannot be too much education in that regard. There should be one in every classroom of every public school today, just as a reminder.

Wow, what a story ... so, in 1983, there were pro-lifers already handing out graphic photos Yes and I still have that paper. There were also pro-life marches in mid-80's.
The Times may be 'tardy' however, the fact that they even allowed the story is a huge move forward. They are plummeting in sales and I'm sure that factored into the decision to run the story as well (the libs always use a 'conservative' angle when they want to increase sales i.e. Hollywood, papers etc). Even if that was the reason, the information will reach many libs......some of them may even change their minds and that's all we care about isn't it?

It's indeed good to see the Truth in print, no matter what their agenda. I sometimes see the road to heaven about the width of a piece of dental floss. Other days I see it a little wider. Hence, the 'tardy' comment.

I tend to focus like that at times as well. Especially when the issue is abortion and your thinking "how can this be happening and furthermore, how is it that people accept this and where is the press on these issues?" But people are waking up.....approval for abortion is dropping so keep up the good fight and maybe one day we will see the end of it.

“but forcing a baby to be born prematurely, so that alive child struggles for sometimes hours trying to breath and live only to struggle, suffer and suffocate, alone, unattended, is beyond stupid ignorance, it is willful demonic directed action”
No, it’s called first degree murder, both on the woman’s part for paying the abortionist to kill her baby, and for the monster who performs the murder. I have little sympathy for the “mother” unless she was dragged kicking and screaming into the “clinic.”
Lord help us.
And here’s my daughter and thousands like her and her husband who would be thrilled to adopt those children, but they’re murdered instead of being offered to the father of the baby or family members. And then, if no one wants the baby, give the little one to an orphanage.
By the way, there are no infant orphanages in the U.S. anymore. If you want to adopt a Caucasian infant, you have to go to Russia or some such and pay up to $50,000.
I know . . . I was adopted from an orphanage 65 years ago and found out that nowadays our baby makers are either KILLING them or KEEPING them. After all, if they decide to KEEP the baby, Obama will take care of their expense.
Lord help us!

I did have that too, a special aunt and uncle. Sadly they are both gone too. But one never knows where the next angel will be found.

I guess they aren’t real accepting of what God has for them.
