Democrats Mount PR Offensive to Counter Obama Nobel Peace Prize Jokes

The Democratic party and their allies are mounting an afternoon public relations offensive to counter the jokes and other negative reactions to the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama for no apparent reason or accomplishment.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi:

"President Obama is working to restore American leadership worldwide and build bonds of friendship across the globe. The Nobel Peace Prize is a testament to his leadership and vision and a tribute to American values. I offer my congratulations to President Obama on this outstanding achievement.

"Diplomacy and cooperation are the cornerstones of a strong, effective foreign policy. President Obama has worked tirelessly to put these principles into practice. In an age when the actions of one nation can affect the future of all nations, the President has recognized the need for global solutions to our most pressing challenges. And he is rallying the world around the common causes of building a world free of nuclear weapons, combating climate change, defeating the forces of terror, securing human rights, and pursuing peace among all nations."

Gov. Tim Kaine, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee:

"The Nobel Committee's decision to award this year's Peace Prize to President Obama is an affirmation of the fact that the United States has returned to its longstanding role as a world leader. The President has made a conscious decision from the beginning of his presidency to reinvigorate diplomacy, by talking to our friends and our rivals. Those efforts to bring world leaders together are helping the people of the world to face monumental challenges like nuclear arms proliferation, conflict resolution and climate change.

"With this prize comes a sense of enormous pride, but also an enormous sense of humility about the work that remains if we are to resolve the global problems facing humanity. Democrats will continue to work with President Obama to keep moving America forward, as we continue in earnest to sow peace, progress and understanding around the world."

John Gage, National President of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE):

AFGE congratulates President Obama on the 2009 Nobel Peace prize, a well-earned and well-deserved honor. While the Nobel committee recognized President Obama for his work in international politics and nuclear disarmament, the committee also recognized that he brings vision and hope to the people of the world for a better future -- a message that he brought to all Americans and the federal workforce last November.

We were proud to stand by President Obama in 2008 and we are proud still to stand by him today. We share his vision of good government, reforming our broken health care system, ensuring pay equality, and fully funding our government agencies so we can better service the American public. AFGE looks forward to continuing our work with the Obama administration as we celebrate the accomplishments of our great country, our great union and our president.

The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is the largest federal employee union, representing 600,000 workers in the federal government and the government of the District of Columbia.

Sen. Patrick Leahy:

"It's a stunning announcement and it reflects well on America's ideals and the world's yearning for American leadership.

"Little is possible without leadership. No one can force other nations to follow, but President Obama is reintroducing America to the rest of the world, and people of goodwill everywhere do have hope about working together for progress on some of the world's most daunting and dangerous problems."

The four statements were all posted within minutes of each other on PR Newswire.

I would have thought you were exaggerating a couple of years ago but since this buffoon came onto the scene I swear trying to talk to a lefty is a waste of time.

I have seen bozo stickers a few times and yes I go voer and ask them questions, simple questions like how do you think he is doing.

The usual answer is OK or great but when I ask them about how more soldiers are dying, the economy has gone worse, the radical czars , more folks out of work etc etc etc they just look dumb and a couple have actually told me that they never knew about it.

The ones who say that I ask who do you watch for news I am surprised as I have never met anyone who does not know that they reply
wait for it

MSNBC, or the local news or even I don’t follow politics I voted for him because my friend did, he was cool.

The left have no brains and are quite simply stuck on stupid

The Left is the worse for their lack of comity. Victory in submissive deference! Now, we are free. Thanks be unto our minders!

“...congratulates President Obama on the 2009 Nobel Peace prize, a well-earned and well-deserved honor”

When they feel compelled to emphasize just how “well-earned” and “well-deserved” the honor is, you know they are worried.

Dems in damage control mode.

LOL.

The Nobel Peace prize has been reduced to total excrement by this formerly prestigious award being given to this fraud.
Obama had barely found the bathroom in the WH when they voted to award him this "prize." How long before that was his name placed in nomination? They admit, I understand, that it was for what they expected of his presidency, rather than anything he actually had done. Can you say, "bribe?" I knew you could.

There are laws against presidents receiving substantial gifts. It certainly violates the spirit if not the letter of this constitutional provision, as well:

No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.
But by taking away the authority of a Republican governor to fill unexpired Senate terms by appointment and restoring that authority to a Democratic governor upon the death of Senator Ted, the Democrats of Massachusetts showed how unimportant mere laws are, in comparison to the convenience of Democrats.

The Nobel committee has jumped the shark.

or how chicago should have won because the obama’s went over for it.

Seeing as I have come form another country and have lived in many around this world then I can tell those lefty loons that it is the arrogance displayed what is the problem and it is by them thinking they have a leg to stand on because bozo is in power.

I have talked to family abroad and they said they are all laughing over there at how bozo won this and everyone is asking in the Euro media , Aussie, NZ media what has he done in two weeks or even since to now.

so for any lefty trolls on here reading this.
it is your arrogance which is not liked, it is the way bozo won this which makes the world laugh at you.

“Now, when nations act up, instead of saying “I won”, he can say, “I’m The Nobel Peace Laureate”. “

Yep, and this should stop people from questioning if he is qualified to be President. It’s obvious that anyone who has won the Nobel Peace Prize is qualified.

They just hate it that we are using their tactics. Alinsky's Rule for Radicals #5:

RULE 5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon." There is no defense. It's irrational. It's infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions. (Pretty crude, rude and mean, huh? They want to create anger and fear.)

They know the ridicule and mocking is hitting way too close to the target.

Let them be as ‘offensive’ as they like. The SNL skit has gone viral:

And the timing of the NPP for doing nada is exquisite.

No kidding. All I can say, is that he is in some good company that has given it to other left wing radicals. Algore, jimmah cattah and arafat. This is one time I hope history repeats itself with cattah getting it and it makes him a one term prez.

Liberals should be embarrassed. But its impossible for them since they have NO standards.

Agreed - I have not laughed so hard in years

IMO this has been one of the best days on FR - pointing out the emperor has no clothes with the absurd, is effective and long overdue - makes the dems and MSM look silly for supporting this empty suit from day one

He alienated the UK, he took Castro’s and Chavez’ side against Honduras, he is unable to make a decision on Afghanistan, he is fomenting a catastrophic trade war with China, Iran is building nukes, and gold (the bell weather of world events) is skyrocketing. Do you feel safer? Is the world more at peace? Or was this a gimmick, one more heavy handed leftist political attack on George Bush? Obama has done nothing to warrant this award, in fact it was just handed to him, like pretty much everything else in his charmed life. He is the embodiment of “Being There” - Chauncey Gardiner - a vacuous, empty personality that rises to power on the basis of repeating simpleton mantras that is mistaken for real leadership. That is Obama.

I'd bet every one of these propaganda clowns had the exact same reaction everyone here had when the first heard the news this morning...

WTF! Is it April 1st?

Now they are in full spin cycle.
