You have to remember that New Orleans is Third World, and NOPD acts accordingly. Like chasing away the looters so they could get their share? Or in some cases not chasing them away and joining in with them.

I know I’m paraphrasing someone else, but the Constitution is not a suicide pact. When a US president, or Congress, or even the Supreme Court begin enacting intolerable regulations upon the citizenry, then more must be done than simply shout, “we’ll get ‘em in the next election!”
This may not be the right time. But I fear the time is coming. And if the time is tomorrow I’m more likely to breath a sigh of relief than shudder in fear.

What an amazing sight that would be! I can't even guess what the next 48 hours or so would be like after such an event. Perhaps we will find out. Good to know Sotomajor is on the job now to straighten out all the legalities should that happen.

As a retired military officer subject to recall at any time, I can tell with firm conviction that I would defeat them in the polling booth. And when are closed to the "national emergency", what then?
Remember that almost all of the leaders of the Continential Army and/or the state militias had served as officers during the French and Indian War, right alongside the British Regulars. They were British Officers, albeit of the British Colonial Militia. Until push came to shove, then most weren't.

NOPD is an acronym for, Not Our Problem, Dude.
If you would like some of my NOPD they range from my drinking with on duty cops until eight in the morning to seeing one beat up a ten year old kid.
But, at least when I am in NOLA, I know that I can always get out of a traffic ticket. However, I don’t.

I woul dbet that intel is being leaked by them back to Al Qeada and the Taliban to kill our soldiers. That's a virtual certainty.

I hope Judge Carter - a retired marine is paying attention.
He was in Afghanistan and talked to the Marines recently. The Hussein ROE or rules of engagement will just get more young Marines killed. It is to help the Taliban and Al Qeada.
Are you listening Judge?

That is the key word as far as Honduras goes:
"elected government" He wasn't allowed by their constitution to extend his presidency.
In other words if our president does something illegal with regards to the election or over steps his legal authority the US supreme court has the legal authority to remove the president by force.

I agree, but aparently we seem to be having two constitutions. One is very plain in its meaning, and unchanging, and the other is living and evolving to apply to "modern" America.
You can well guess to which view I subscribe, or I wouldn't be here, LOL.
Obama above all shows himself to be a Commander in Chief insensitive to death, whether it be of American soldiers, or Africans genocidally slaughtered in the streets of Nairobi by his cousin Odinga, whom he supported to help create inter-tribal genocide.
He distances hiself from it.
It is the mark of a cold , elitist beast, who rules above the masses as a King.I pray it be his undoing.

In other words if our president does something illegal with regards to the election or over steps his legal authority the US supreme court has the legal authority to remove the president by force. Not Constitutionally. Congress must impeach and the Senate convict. Once that is done the any law enforcement agency can remove him. Regardless, nothing in the Constitution gives the military the authority to remove an elected president for any reason. No matter how much the author would like to believe that.
To: Non-Sequitur
you are not getting it.
"Congress must impeach and the Senate convict."
If the person is not legally the president then the supreme court can remove him.

To: Non-Sequitur
Law.
If the person is legally not president then he is NOT the president. It is that simple.
There is no impeachment needed because he is NOT the president.
All the law is doing is removing the person that IS NOT the president.
This is not hard to understand.
Peru and Honduras both removed the person that claimed to be their presidents in this way.

oh... here is what I said wrong at first:

Peru and Honduras both removed the person that claimed to be their presidents in this way. Peru and Honduras do not operate under the U.S. Constitution.
To: Non-Sequitur
Of course.. I am just pointing out two countries that did this that has similar laws on the books.
But do you understand now? If he isn't legally the president then the person that claims to be the president can be removed.
The courts would have to prove the person claiming to be president used fraudulent or illegal means to acquire the office.
It is like if i walked into the oval office with a fraudulent presidency card and claimed to be president the law has the authority to remove me.

The country would immediately go into civil war with massive unrest in major cities. This would set a precedent and every up and coming general would vie for power and the elected President would roam the halls wondering how he could prevent another one. Everyone says that elections have consequences and this is what happens when you have eight years of poor leadership.

That's what they did in the small country of Honduras!
To reason with N-Snot is like punch in a pillow and definitely a plant mole!!
