CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. -- No more Cracker Barrel restaurants ever for one Georgia man. The company has banned the man accused of beating a mother at one of its restaurants from all of its locations for life. Investigators in Clayton County said Troy West beat Tasha Hill at a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Morrow while yelling racial slurs after he nearly hit her 7-year-old daughter while opening the restaurant's door. Cracker Barrel Bans Suspect From Restaurant For Life The beating is leading some state lawmakers to consider pushing for a Georgia Hate Crime Law. "It's past time, but there again, Georgia seems to be kind of at the end of coming on board with things that are of a progressive mode," said State Sen. Gail Buckner. The FBI is investigating if it will file federal hate crime charges in the case. West was charged with battery, disorderly conduct, and cruelty to children in the first degree. He is currently out on $5,000 bond. A hearing has been set for Sept. 24 in Clayton County.
I sure do too. At least they didnt jump up and down, rooting the perpetrator on like the kids on the bus....where the white kid got his brains knocked out.
unless it’s about smoking, using transfatty acids in cooking, or....
We also tried Cracker Barrel. The chicken patty was raw in the middle and the mayo was yellow. We stopped eating as soon as it was discovered but got food poisoning anyways. Never stepped foot in the place again.
The guy is fortunate for the ban. They are doing him a favor.
I’ve read several different accounts of this incident in different forms. Every one agreed that she said ‘Excuse me sir, you need to watch where you’re going. You almost hit my daughter in the face.”
Every witness agreed with her, there were others coming in and out the doors at the same time. They all told the police she was very polite and non-confrontational. As he hit her, she said she was a soldier and didn’t want any trouble and he continued to beat on her.
It might make my sons angry but even if a woman gets up in their face and yells, all they have to do is walk away.
Hell, I got banned from Cracker Barrel when I asked that the gravy be omitted from my Skillet Breakfast because I’m allergic to gluten. The manager, even, insisted that they had a “no changes” rule. Guess their idea of good food and good customer service is to poison their patrons.
I was so irritated I wrote corporate a lengthy description of what happened and they sent me a coupon for ONE for a free breakfast that expired six months later.
Wife beaters and Celiacs, beware!!!
What an outfit.
See my post #33.

Typically, what happens is that if someone recognizes him, he can be arrested for trespass. If the facts as represented are accurate, they had a perfect right, nay, an obligation to ban this buffoon. He struck a woman, sir. After nearly hitting her child with a door.
I agree, if the races of the individuals involved had been swapped, the consequences would have been entirely different.
Yea OK, and?
Here's what I commented on: "The company has banned the man accused of beating a mother at one of its restaurants from all of its locations for life.
This CCB outfit, has an awful lot of stores y'know.
We're not talking about casinos in LV, now.
Follow?

I'd agree, being one who respects private property & all that. {BTW OT, just wondering. Do people living in MA naturally start talking like Patrick Henry? LOL} /jk'g
"He struck a woman, sir. After nearly hitting her child with a door."
He's fortunate all he faces is getting tossed from a two-bit restaurant chain & a small fine of some kind. Could've been much worse for the old goat physically & financially.

Goes without saying.
Be that as it may, my comment was inspired by this pull-quote: "The beating is leading some state lawmakers to consider pushing for a Georgia Hate Crime Law."
Guess you're not a fan of Frank Zappa. You'd have caught the reference to "Sears'". Mocks the whole "hate crime" baloney, ala Frank Zappa.
Laws are laws & should be enforced as such.
He would be probably known to someone in the Cracker Barrel near where he lives or moves to. Just the threat has deterent value.
Sounds spot-on to me.
Happy to learn you've a sense of humor, can take a little teasing on the "nay" thing. ;^)
I assume you know that Patrick Henry was a Virginian.
The guy beat a lady in Cracker Barrel. They were right to ban him for life. Jackasses like him should be banned from the planet.
