Twelve percent (12%) of voters nationwide believe that most opponents of President Obamas health care reform plan are racist. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 67% of voters disagree, and 21% are not sure.
In recent days, several Democrats have suggested that racism is a factor. The most prominent to make that accusation is former President Jimmy Carter.
Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Republicans reject the notion that most of the opponents are racist. So do 78% of voters not affiliated with either major party. However, just 39% of Democrats share that view. Twenty-two percent (22%) of those in the presidents party say that most of the opposition to his plan comes from racists, and another 39% are not sure.
*snip*
Only one percent (1%) of those opposed to the health care plan believe that most of the opposition comes from racists.
Among Obamas strongest supporters, those who Strongly Approve of his job performance, 35% say most opponents are racists, 32% disagree and 33% are not sure.
Among African-American voters, 27% say most opponents are racist, 25% disagree, and 48% are not sure.
Fifty percent (50%) of white Democrats reject the charge of racism, but 15% say its true.

RACERS!
I think the polls are wrong. It is more like 55% of voters are racist. Racist against usurper, phony socialists that could have allegiance to the Muslims.
12% is awfully low and an encouraging number. With Kanye West’s racist tirade and more non blacks waking up to the pernicious and growing Black racism, the Obama supporter are being foisted on their own petard of bleating racism where there is’nt any.
Unfortunately, most of those 12% are members of the mainstream media, or Democrat members of Congress.
But, fully 90% could tell you who got kicked off The Survivor island last week.
It's the important things in life, ya see....
12% is about the number of absolute socialists who support the zero. They will say anything they are told.
LOL-Kinnock!
12% also is the amount of support that the left would get if their politicians were honest about their core beliefs and goals.
Wow. 1/15 are not racist. It’s a start.
I agree that only 12% is very encouraging. If only all black Americans felt opponents of Obamacare were racists, the number would be right around 12%.
This poll seems to indicate that the disgraceful effort on the part of the Democrat party to use false claims of “racism” to force its socialist agenda on the American people, is not only failing, but backfiring.
It seems like they may have finally maxed out the race card.
This means even the African Americans are not buying into the race card garbage anymore.
Looks like the race card has become the joker.
Do the people who make up the 12% work for the news media?
Interesting that this 12% average figure is roughly the same percentage of the population that is assumed to actually BE racist.
Maybe society can always count on a 12-15% minority of idiot racists of every color that simply muck up the debate of the rest of the people.
If we know this then we can safely ignore both the RACErs and the racists and go on with our business.
53% of Americans voted for Obama.
Today 55% oppose Obamacare.
So some racists voted for Obama?
Or they became racist in the last 7 months?
Liberal logic is headache inducing!
This bears repeating, and it is a credit to the Black community that they are NOT falling for this crap. I have long thought that it is LIBERALS WHITE people who promote and encourage the feelings of disenfranchisement and racism in the Black community, because it allows the White Liberals to USE BLACK people as political pawns. It is a despicable tactic, and one that should be called out.
Nothing much surprising in this poll.
INDEPENDENT AMERICAN MOVEMENT FOR CONSTITUTIONAL RESTORATION
Don't leave home without it.
Coincidence. From the article: “Among African-American voters, 27% say most opponents are racist, 25% disagree, and 48% are not sure.”
