Election trouble brewing for House Dems in 2010

NEW YORK (AP) - Despite sweeping Democratic successes in the past two national elections, continuing job losses and President Barack Obama's slipping support could lead to double-digit losses for the party in next year's congressional races and may even threaten their House control.
Fifty-four new Democrats were swept into the House in 2006 and 2008, helping the party claim a decisive majority as voters soured on a Republican president and embraced Obama's message of hope and change. Many of the new Democrats are in districts carried by Republican John McCain in last year's presidential contest; others are in traditional swing districts that have proved tough for either party to hold.
From New Hampshire to Nevada, House Democrats also will be forced to defend votes on Obama's $757 billion economic recovery package and on energy legislation viewed by many as a job killer in an already weak economy.
Add to that the absence of Obama from the top of the ticket, which could reduce turnout among blacks, liberals and young people, and the likelihood of a highly motivated GOP base confused by the president's proposed health care plan and angry at what they consider reckless spending and high debt.
Taken together, it could be the most toxic environment for Democrats since 1994, when the party lost 34 House incumbents and 54 seats altogether. Democrats currently have a 256-178 edge in the House, with one vacancy. Republicans would have to pick up 40 seats to regain control.

“I understand Pelosi use to be a pretty woman.”
Yeah, but that was when she was a dance hall girl, during the California Gold Rush days in the 1850’s.

These optimistic forecasts overlook the MASSIVE voter fraud that will take place during the next election cycle. It will not be the conservative takeover that should result from the total incompetence of the members of this administration and of the legislature.

"Joe needs to read the provision in the bill that proves obama lied. then sit down. "
We saw in 2001 what brute, conservative force can do to stop or slow down "voter fraud" when they burst into that democrat-packed backroom and shined the light on their bogus vote counting...we all know how that turned out.
The "surprise" might backfire on them, as following the ACORN led debacle of an election in '08, we are all going to be keenly aware of any shenanigans. I think there will be a lot of unofficial "poll watchers" on both sides.
The key point is to not let the left/ACORN or the black panthers intimidate you from a) going to the polls, b) voting for your choice.
I am ashamed of the Americans who let those thugs in Pa intimidate and and scare them from voting. Regardless of the slant shown on TV, we DO outnumber them.
The thug at the door with his big arms crossed like he's guarding Solomon's tomb may look scary to the individual voter, but we could always set up free-voting, and very large "escorts" to see the more timid past the "guards". Maybe we should set up mini-tea parties in the poll parking lot, offering free (non-partisan) refreshments to voters, and keeping an eye out for thugs and cheaters, then report them to the authorities.
It's a damn shame in America that we have come to this third-world method of voting, by intimidation and threat, but we're Americans, and fighting for our freedom is how we started, and it's how we'll continue.
We also need to lobby our congresspeople to outlaw "motor voter", "internet voter"; we need to be more strict on absentee voters, and require voter ID in ALL CASES.
People claiming eligibility in more than one precinct/city/state should also be rounded up and prosecuted for voter fraud. Except for Charlie Rangle, most people can only claim one location as their "primary residence", and it is usually tax fraud to do different.
Last, but not least, incite the biggest push for going to the polls ever experienced by conservatives...your wealth, welfare, and country depends on it. Keep the tea party spirit going and stand up for America.

Beth Foughy, do you pronounce that phooey?I don't know how she pronounces that name, but in the Philadelphia area, an Irish name with ough is pronounced as ck. Loughran = Lockran, Dougherty = Dockerty. The possibilities for Foughy are rather amusing.

Too many people have been so brianwashed by the Democrat use of Saul Alinsky’s Rules that they don’t realize they are helping the Democrats by using those rules against their own Party without realizing it, whether Blue Dog Democrat or Republican.
We have to get the word out, maybe just a bit at a time to re-educate the vulnerable masses. I suggest using letters to the editor and our blogs.
Even the latest issue of Politico which I picked up in DC uses the “Rules” when attacking us “extremists.” They just don’t get it.

I dont get it.Well, here it is.
The money behind Obama is organized. It is a Chicago organization allied with union bosses, and Soros. They have a stranglehold on the Democrat Party.
The goals are to reward the unions for their support; to bankrupt the US Treasury; and to make the US a Socialist Republic before the world.
The unions are well on their way. The Treasury is bankrupt. Unionizing healthcare will put one-sixth (16%) of the economy in the same category as airport security, education, post office, auto manufacturing, most state governments, trucking, and railroads.....to name a few union enterprises that are already destroyed.
What the communists sought for America in the 1940's to the 1980's is almost here.
What are you going to do to stop it?

There is absolutely no reason to keep these hypocrites in office, because when Queen Nancy and Dingy Harry need their votes, they deliver faster than Pizza Hut.I can't photoshop, but FR has loads of talented graphic artists and I've been hoping someone would do a picture of Nasty Pelosi, dressed up as either the Queen of Hearts or Queen Elizabeth I with her hair pulled back and the most grotesque, frightening and evil look in her eyes and on her face, with her lips curled back. She could be sitting in her throne on the diaz of the House. This should be her new image: Queen Nancy, or "Queen Nasty I".

Originalbuckeye is exactly right. British “conservatives” (the terms don’t go well together, but) claim that their health care bureaucracy is the *world’s* second largest employer and a dominant voting bloc! Whether they’re really that numerous, I don’t know, and I don’t want to find out by letting it happen here.

Nov 2010 is a long way away. The hot button issues aside the next congressional elections will be about the economy and jobs, If the economy and unemployment starts to improve by then, the GOP will be hard pressed to gain more than 20 house seats, and may actually lose more senate seats. The sheeple are more interested in their paychecks than threats to their freedoms.

a 20-30 seat change for Republicans. Two getting voted out could be Dodd and Reid. 20-30 sounds high for the Senate, he must have been talking about the House.
