Please post your updates from D.C. and from news reports here as well as your photos of the day.
Our Walter Reed salute to the troops last night was very well attended. Upwards of 800 people were there over the three-plus hours of the demonstration.
Photos and video taken by This Ain'tHell taken in daylight before the bulk of the crowd showed can be viewed here.

Thanks so much for that encouraging report from the Democrats in Congress. The blue dogs are damn worried. Obama is not the man of the people who elected them. The people who elected them are at tea parties.

Thank you for attending! (I’m so jealous!)

...only for every one in DC...a thousand at home.LOL
A thousand times 1.5 million come out at about one and a half billion, if my old head still cooks numbers.
That's okay, I'll stick with my estimate as being a tiny bit more in line with reality.

It’s not important that Sarah speak today. This isn’t about Sarah it is about a grass roots movement of citizens, unconnected to any political office. I actually don’t like the fact that any politicians are there, it kind of ruins the effect. Sarah never said she was coming, she has other things to do and she is correct in staying away.

Judging by the way this thread is going, for every one that made it to DC, theres a dozen sitting home after work, watching and wishing they could be there in more than spirit. Actually, I was there Thursday and said my prayers before having to come home only because of necessary obligations yesterday and this morning.
We did make a few historical stops on our trip such as Harper's Ferry and Appomattox. I was thought about all of those who gave their lives over divided idealism in our country. We are again fragmented and the troops are preparing.
As we also visited Monticello, I couldn't help but wonder what TJ would think and say today.
