Please post your updates from D.C. and from news reports here as well as your photos of the day.
Our Walter Reed salute to the troops last night was very well attended. Upwards of 800 people were there over the three-plus hours of the demonstration.
Photos and video taken by This Ain'tHell taken in daylight before the bulk of the crowd showed can be viewed here.
Free Republic 9/11 Candlelight Vigil from Washington DC
Just tuning in here....good luck PATRIOTS!!!
(oh, FOX has great coverage on right now...and I am planning to watch & tape Glenn Beck....an interesting note...MSNBC is advertising coverage from 1 - 3 of “President Obama’s Health Care Rally”...at first I thought it was coverage of the DC event, but now FOX is announcing that Obama is having his own rally during that time frame in Minnesota, so I’m guessing MSNBC is covering it. Looks like Obama is competing with the DC Teaparty for live coverage!)
“You would think SOMEONE could do an arial view of this crowd, wouldnt you?”
Obama is/was scheduled to helicopter out at some time during the day, so NO CIVILIAN TRFAFIC would be allowed over Washington...
Are there any long shots of the mall? The traffic cams aren’t picking this up at all.
To all who are there, THANK YOU!!!
@michellemalkin 2 million flooding streets of D.C. So much for the teeny, tiny fringe. #912
[ABC is reporting 2 million people in DC. Thats more than the inauguration. #912DC]
JUST WOW!! Why is the MSM pukes (MSNBC, CNN, even FNC) continuing to say “thousands.” LIARS!
Yeah, I unfortunately have my insurance with Hartford through AARP but am going to switch to the conservative version of AARP called ASA ( http://www.americanseniors.org/pages/PressOnMedia.aspx?Images=/images/american_financial_products.jpg )

Has audio and crowd pictures

has video and audio of speakers(live feed starts after a 15 second commercial)
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we OWN that chunk of real estate, but I do understand the practicality of having permits. As it is, I'm sure the public services are over-taxed (heh heh, d'ja get that? a little tax play on words!)
Also, Molly said "another group has the permit for that piece of the mall". Hmmmm....wonder who that is?
same with me. I can’t hear audio on the live Fox stream...but I am thinking it will come soon????
FOX keeps spewing “tens of thousands” line...finally turned them off. Beck will set them straight at 1 p.m.
I hope not! Santelli deserves an award.. What an amazing spark he gave to millions of angry taxpayers.
go to youtube and search thomas paine
I just tried it again, I got the black screen as well. I have been watching on cnn online and following FOX on tv.
Yeah...might have been bogus pic.
In fact, he’s right up there with Joe Wilson!!! :-)
There were none.....and they were right!
WOO HOO! GOING FOR TWO!
Leni
Thanks for the concern!
Politics hasn’t changed, it’s still about money and votes. Politics is still all local. You’ve got to effect the pols locally, not in DC where this kind of activity happens often.
IT had it right, it’s what happens when these people get back home. Protest at local offices, get on the local news, that’s what causes them to squirm and sweat.
Hopefully the energy of this event can be carried back to the local districts.
Zot!!
ta-ta TROLL.
CNN has clearly chosen not to pick up the crowd noise. It significantly blunts the effect, and is designed to minimize the numbers and fiery enthusiasm. Plus, it removes the rally aspect from the mix, taking the speakers’ raised voices out of context to make them look overwrought and angry in general.
An elected Republican needs to tell Park Police or DC Cops, “arrest me or shut up!”
