Glenn Beck with David Horowitz on Obama's Communist Czars, Part 1Glenn Beck with David Horowitz on Obama's Communist Czars Part 2
That was an amazing interview! It gives encouragement to those lost liberal radicals in that their is hope they can once again return from the dark side...
Wow. An amazing interview with someone who knows the beast which is liberalism.
Oh my...indeed! These men have, may I say without sounding uh, crass? REAL CAJONES! I pray to God that more of these type men stand up and follow, lead or get the F out of the way!!!
Oh, BTW, I’m a girl and if you want to impress a girl that has real value...you gotta take a lesson from these men who
are standing up!!!
Great insight. Thanks for posting those links.
I agree with Horowitz that the Republican Party needs to change their approach. As he says that they need to stop sounding like businessmen and accountants and instead point out that the Democrats are in charge of the inner cities and have made a mess of it. We need to keep beating that drum.
They need to stop sounding like Liberal-lite first and foremost.
And then, if they ever do get back into power again, they need to stop legislating like Liberal-lite.
That is how we got a Dem congress and Obummer in the White House.
excellent. Thanks.
Horowitz was DEEPLY involved with the radical left in the 60’s and 70’s. He worked for the Black Panthers for some time, until he was disillusioned with them after they murdered a woman for internal political reasons.
If the Republicans don't learn how to play the PR game, it doesn't matter how well they stick to conservative ideals. They will not get elected. Face it, the middle cut of America doesn't really want to have to think about issues or politics or ideals. They just want to go on living their lives. And they will do so as long as you don't create any sudden upsets. That's where the Democrats stumbled with Health Care.
The only way to get these types to vote for you is to tell a story, over and over again, about how you're helping those in need. And show how the opposition is to blame for the plight of the poor. That's the PR. And then at election time, appeal to them in flashy advertisements. Otherwise, they (the ones in the middle who sway the elections) do not want to be bothered with any of it.
The Left is responsible for all sorts of failed attempts to help the poor. We just need to shine a light on their failures. One of the main ways to help the poor is to reduce taxes, especially on businesses. This will create jobs, which will provide opportunities for people to get out of poverty. The Democrats keep vilifying business, and wanting to raise taxes on the “rich” (including small business owners). Their policies are destroying jobs.
Are you talking born-again spiritual salvation, or political?
My local library has “Radical Son.” I take it you recommend it?
I don’t know. Ronald Reagan did not have to cater to the downtrodden in the way the Left does, i.e., “Vote for us and we’ll give you free stuff.” To the contrary. And he was the most successful Conservative president in my lifetime. (Actually, he was the only Conservative president in my lifetime.)
I think that, even today, a platform of “My policies will lead to economic growth, which will lead to more and better job opportunities for you and your family” would still work. You just need the right salesman. Someone with *credibility*. Not someone who talks a good Conservative game, but governs Liberal-lite, e.g. GWB.
Unfortunately, the GOP is essentially bereft of anyone like that, anyone who hasn’t been tainted by the shameful Liberalesque spending binge of 2001-2006, when the GOP controlled everything.
Sarah Palin maybe. I think she’s awesome, but fear she’s been so savaged as to be unelectable.
Horowitz also said the liberals are intolerant, bigots and try to destroy you. They want to control your life. We sure are seeing that right before our eyes.
I didn’t say anything about handing out free stuff.
Middle America isn’t looking for free stuff.
You’re right that Reagan didn’t have to do much PR. But how many Reagans do we have? Once in a century. In the meantime, we need an approach that works and yet doesn’t betray our ideals. The recent strategies of the Republicans are losing strategies.
I know you didn’t mention handing out free stuff. But that is what the Left has been doing, and they have won big-time the last two election cycles.
This past month was a very good month for America. But that is just a short-term gain. Like you said, recent Republican strategies have been losing strategies. There is NOBODY out there right now who will change that. And, until there is, I think we are screwed.
