Sade (pronounced shah-DAY) is an English group which achieved success in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. The band's music features elements of soul, jazz, R&B, quiet storm, soft rock, funk, easy listening, and adult contemporary. The lead vocalist, Sade Adu, is the only woman in the band and is the only one to appear on their album and single covers. Sade's 2000 release, Lovers Rock sold 3,881,000 copies in the U.S. and the prior album, 1992's Love Deluxe sold 3,407,000. Since 1985's Diamond Life debut, Sade has sold nearly 17 million units in the U.S. alone according to Nielsen.

~The Pagan Sock Hop~

“The Pagan Sock Hop; Aces & Breakfast” . . . in which I have a little mad fun with a local pagan group holding a sock hop . . . and, because I had no old-time radio show in my collection that had broadcast-worthy sound quality (for a fan it’s ok, but on pro radio it would have been horrid, some of those old transcription disks are so badly worn or cracked), I decided to try two old-time radio mulctings of my own: a) Gathered from some of Goodman Ace’s later-life writings, I managed to fashion a new sketch based on the old Easy Aces radio show; and, b) in light of today’s mushy-gushy couples (not necessarily husband and wife but male-female regardless) morning shows, television and radio alike, I updated Fred Allen and Tallulah Bankhead’s classic “Mr. and Mrs. Breakfast Show” routine, making it a little more Vegas-inclined and a little more contemporary. My lady played both Jane Ace and Mrs. Breakfast Show.
