Glenn Beck's fear of Obama: Seize power overnight
WorldNetDaily ^ | August 26, 2009 | Joe Kovacs

Posted on 08/26/2009 7:18:55 PM PDT by RobinMasters

Will President Obama "seize power overnight" in a move to consolidate White House control of the U.S. government?

That's the fear of Fox News anchor Glenn Beck who discussed the issue at length today with another broadcasting powerhouse, radio's Rush Limbaugh.

"I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought," Beck said.

His comment came as he was analyzing the changing nature of the media since Obama's election, citing the administration's close ties with the NBC network, owned by corporate giant General Electric:

If you watch what could only be called the administration's organ – anything involved with GE or NBC – you've got [GE CEO] Jeffrey Immelt on the board of the Federal Reserve, you have him in the Oval Office consulting not only on health care, but the financial situation, and they are an organ. If you watch MSNBC, I contend that you will see the future because they are laying the ground for a horrible event ... anything from the right, there's some awful event and I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought.

Limbaugh responded, "I don't think they're going to be able to seize it overnight without anybody knowing about it."

Wait till the 2010 2012 and see if you don’t have to have a number to get past acorn to vote. Love your country but do not trust your government. And I do not trust our government.

>They are trained to obey the oath to defend the Constitution.

They are not; and I say this with 9 years in the National Guard. The Army does not actively encourage an understanding of the Constitution, it actively encourages obedience though... my point is that it is “perfectly acceptable” to deffer to someone else’s understanding of “constitutional” or “legal”.

Yeah, they would. Most of our local cops would live for that kind of power.

All this cowboy talk about taking to the streets is so much nonsense.

Correct you are. War is about terrain and the war is being fought over the countryside. Already. Rural cleansing is underway, and all the BS about healthcare, etc., is a diversion. An alliance of multinational Ag corps with whacko environmentalists, Waxman-Schumer Democrats, left wing anti-animal idiots, and anti-farmer courts are forcing live-on-the-farm farmers and ranchers out of business. Water use is just one part.

They are wresting the militarily advantageous RED areas out of the hands of good conservative people, the ones that "cling to theeir guns and religion."

Executive Orders associated with FEMA that would suspend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. These Executive Orders have been on record for nearly 30 years and could be enacted by the stroke of a Presidential pen:…

allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10995

allows the government to seize and control the communication media.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10997

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10998

EXECUTIVE ORDER 10999

allows the government to take over all food resources and farms.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11000

allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11001

allows the government to take over all health, education and welfare functions.

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11002

EXECUTIVE ORDER 11921

It also provides that when a state of emergency is declared by the President, Congress cannot review the action for six months. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has broad powers in every aspect of the nation. General Frank Salzedo, chief of FEMA’s Civil Security Division stated in a 1983 conference that he saw FEMA’s role as a “new frontier in the protection of individual and governmental leaders from assassination, and of civil and military installations from sabotage and/or attack, as well as prevention of dissident groups from gaining access to U.S. opinion, or a global audience in times of crisis.” FEMA’s powers were consolidated by President Carter to incorporate the…

National Security Act of 1947

allows for the strategic relocation of industries, services, government and other essential economic activities, and to rationalize the requirements for manpower, resources and production facilities.

When we have a judiciary that is working in tandem with or is complicit with a person or body who desires to override the constitution, We the People have lost our constitutional protections.

Since the beginning of this administration; and granted for decades prior, we have watched as our judiciary has allowed the constitution to be shoved aside, stretched, mangled or ignored. The USSC, our ultimate authority of law has done virtually nothing to protect the rights of the citizen or to hold an out of control legislature in check.

The takeover of private industry, Czars running roughshod over the rights of citizens, censorship, bailouts, intrusions into the private affairs of citizens and private business; and that is just a small sample. The judiciary has allowed the Feds to go miles past the limits clearly defined our founding document.

You ask how it’s possible to take over the US? Simple, have a complicit judiciary.

The American people have lost the protector of our rights leaving it to us, the citizens, to reign in both an out of control legislature and the judiciary. We the people have in many ways very little power.

As example:

We can not remove a sitting Supreme Court justice or any appointed Federal Judge.

At the state level, it’s nearly impossible to remove an appointed judge and only through elections can we remove others.

There are no provisions in the Constitution to enable the citizens to remove a sitting Senator or Congressman except through elections. We are seeing today what damage can be done until We The People have the opportunity to vote the “bums” out. We are also seeing the ramifications of a party in complete control that has allowed their members to walk freely away from corruption charge after corruption charge. We have also watched as they have tried to destroy member of the opposition party, both politically and personally with full impunity.

So I ask you, with a complicit judiciary, one political party in charge of both houses of congress - just how does the Constitution prevent a take-over of the US?

Hey sister! You are so right! I have had it with O’Reilly. Any time I see a Fox host or pundit playing kissy foot with zer0 I think that person is now an attendee to michelle and zer0’s Wednesday night kobi beef parties. They are on an ego trip. The only night I watch it is when Laura fills in which she is all next week btw. I dvr his show and then mute it when I watch and just fast forward to see if Morris or Beck is on and only then do I watch him now.

“So I ask you, with a complicit judiciary, one political party in charge of both houses of congress - just how does the Constitution prevent a take-over of the US?”

The Constitution itself does not. The Constitution is just an old piece of parchment that is incapable of independent action of and by itself....the only good it can do is if the People it was written for read it, clearly understand it, and realize they already have the means to act on what it says.

The Constitution gives American Citizens a magnificent and focused tool to use, should they ever decide matters are seriously wrong enough to require picking it up.

That “tool” that the Founding Fathers gave us is outlined in the Second Amendment. In my view it was written as a means for us to protect ourselves from the Government, should we ever decide that things are so seriously wrong that we need to solve the root problem ourselves.

The only question remaining my friend, has that time arrived quite yet? And if it has, how shall we proceed??
