Will President Obama "seize power overnight" in a move to consolidate White House control of the U.S. government?
That's the fear of Fox News anchor Glenn Beck who discussed the issue at length today with another broadcasting powerhouse, radio's Rush Limbaugh.
"I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought," Beck said.
His comment came as he was analyzing the changing nature of the media since Obama's election, citing the administration's close ties with the NBC network, owned by corporate giant General Electric:
If you watch what could only be called the administration's organ – anything involved with GE or NBC – you've got [GE CEO] Jeffrey Immelt on the board of the Federal Reserve, you have him in the Oval Office consulting not only on health care, but the financial situation, and they are an organ. If you watch MSNBC, I contend that you will see the future because they are laying the ground for a horrible event ... anything from the right, there's some awful event and I fear this government, this administration has so much framework already prepared, that they will seize power overnight before anybody even gives it a second thought.
Limbaugh responded, "I don't think they're going to be able to seize it overnight without anybody knowing about it."

Glenn is hoping against hope to be PROVED wrong and no one’s even attempting to refute his points. I think Glenn knows far more than he feels comfortable putting on TV and he has lost quite a bit of his jollity and humor bc i think he is seriously concerned and laying awake nights over what he is finding out.

I have a good friend who is originally from Venezuela, her parents are still there and she was down there for a month this summer visiting. Talking to her about what is going on there, and considering our own situation, i really could see how it came about. Recently Chavez passed a law saying that children at age 3 had to be educated in government centers. My friend said, he TOLD US he was going to do all of this, people laughed and said oh he’s a crazy man, he won’t be able to do those things. And daily he does more and more of them. Other than those living in Caracas, people just try to go about living their normal every day lives without focusing on him and what he is doing to their country. i can see that here. Prior to healthcare, which really got people riled up, Obama could pass stuff incrementally, and then people would one day wake up and say OMG, what has happened. It alarms me, the parallels i see between our situation and what happened in Venezuela. And then we have the diversity officer at the FCC, paying homage to chavez’ great revolution. scary stuff. we want to believe that Glenn Beck is an alarmist, that Obams could never get away with anything REALLY radical. The venezuelans thought the same thing of Chavez.

I listen to Glenn pretty regularly and have wondered if there is something else that he knows. Last night he said (paraphrase) ...he doesn’t say out loud everything he believes, but he believes everything he says. That struck me.
One thing I’m noticing about my own reactions to this administration- they are unlike any I experienced with Clinton or Carter.

Obama will do no such thing. He’s already stumbling, and his Presidency is a jumbled, disjointed mess. We’ve already seen the height of his power - from here on in, he will get weaker and weaker, and his own party will start to desert him. At the end of his term, he will be one of the weakest, most hated Presidents in history.
This kind of crap just makes us look like a bunch of paranoid tinfoilers. We can do better than this.
I do think Glenn knows much more but he knows that he would be painted a total lunatic if he voiced it aloud. Bill O really irks the crap out of me when he has glenn on, bc he makes light of so much of it. yeah, i know, so many hate oreilly. i watch him, i like him, but i know he is more than half egotistical buffoon. he amuses us at the xshouse : ) good to see you too!
With Clinton and Carter, you knew they weren't going to abuse the chain of succession that comes with an election.
With )bama I get the feeling he will not go quietly when voted out. His cronies in ACORN, and the New Black Panthers have already declared chaos in the elections, and get a free pass from the administration.
The real indicator will be next year, and what intimidating abuses are used at the polls.
*NOTE: I use the ) for the O in Obama. While others use the 0(Zero), I believe he is less than that, hence the ).
His political survival may indeed be at stake.

Be specific - numbers, location, military training, where it took place, armaments, division names and locations, command base, names of combat commanders. I’m sure you have this info handy provided by your intelligence assets.
Last winter, king obuma ordered his “army” to gather, go door-to-door and demand people sign loyalty oaths to king obuma.

It all starts out innocently, “for the greater good”, “Reform”, cleverly worded little phrases that hypnotize the majority into wanting to believe they have nothing but the best intentions in store for us.
Like Chavez, they chip away at the obstacles in the Constitution one bill at a time, and in this case several overwhelming, massive issues that has most of us shell-shocked. They have done it so quickly and on such a massive scale that we cannot fathom what it means or what is it's intent. Soon, they will rewrite the Constitution and abolish most of what is in it to suit their agenda.
That is how they seize power and control. It is EXACTLY how Hitler took control of Germany and central Europe. We may very well wind up in a Totalitarian, National Socialism with Barrack ObaMao as our Supreme Fuhrer.
Watch closely as he spends the next few years, creating his “National Security Force”. Funded and equipped with all the power and weaponry for the sole purpose to control the American People.
Conservative views and principles will be labeled as “Hate Crimes”, there will become only one party from which to vote-in elected officials and they will only be approved of by the central Government before they can run for election.
Do not scoff at this possibility. It is VERY real and about to happen, sooner than many of you think.

Now that would be insufferable. As for the other scenarios: aside from the things a foreign power or terrorist group (China/Russia/Radical Islam) might do to us, I cannot quite believe the Progressive-led Democrats would be willing to go so far in pursuit of total power. Even if they were that crazy, the risks to them would be enormous.
Yes- and somehow with Clinton and Carter I didn’t have a cold pit of fear in my gut. This man is different than anyone we’ve ever had for president- and it’s nothing to do with his skin color or even where he was born.

I disagree. He won rather easily last time without all that crap. He can do the same thing again and again and again. With funding for Acorn, the MSM under his thumb, false flag domestic ops, psyops against the Republicans, his political opposition will be powerless. Heck, he could even create a bunch of new "right wing" third parties to split up the opposition. How are we going to tell those apart from the real thing?

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with what many FReepers are doing here on this thread. Beck is just as right as any scoffer who lives in denial that any thing is possible.
It is also wrong to belittle and mock anyone who does not share or parrot your arrogant tone. I have seen war from the front line perspective. It is not good to push your best support out the same foxhole you both need survive.
