Arlington?

After how he smeared our troops???????????????????

Kennedy smears President Bush and our troops on the US Senate floor:

He described the Iraq war as a fraud “made up in Texas” as part of political strategy — accused the President of the US of “telling lie, after lie, after lie”, in order to go to war in Iraq.

Sen. Edward Kennedy Smears the Nation

“On March 19, 2004, President Bush asked: ‘Who would prefer that Saddam’s torture chambers still be open?’ Shamefully, we now learn that Saddam’s torture chambers reopened under new management — U.S. management.”

A speech on the Senate floor, May 10, 2004.

He served in the Army of the United States as an enlisted man in the military police. He was a United States senator for 47 years. I may not have agreed with his politics or countenanced his personal behavior, but his burial in Arlington near his brothers does not offend me in any way.

GWB kept trying to “win over” EMK, and he failed at that too.

Fat Teddy has made a habit of smearing our troops for the last 40 years!

You’d think that Ted Kennedy would at least be censured for his treasonous statement issued in wartime under the auspices of his office.

Who is responsible for turning Arlington into a toxic waste dump?

I think his request/demand to be buried at Arlington is part of the same ongoing insult to our veterans.

Arlington?

Teddy's last act of "in-your-face" defiance...On the other hand, the history of Arlington is such that it was chosen as a national cemetary as an everlasting act of "in-your-face" defiance to Robert E. Lee...

Yes, I well remember that comment he made concerning Iraq. I wanted to slap him....that arrogant spoiled brat. I thought to myself at the time that he was LONG overdue for retirement, but Massachusetts would NEVER agree. They would have to carry him out, and that is what happened.

I echo all that has been said by his critics. He was a disgrace, and without his name he would not have been elected as a career politician.

In my opinion, the only times he met the mark were when he spoke at the funerals of his family members. He always spoke well, and it was obvious that he had much to carry on his shoulders. My sympathy for him would disappear, however, as soon as I saw him in action in DC again.

His grave will be visited in Arlington, but never out of respect by the majority. It will just be out of curiosity.

re: Kennedy smears President Bush and our troops on the US Senate floor:)))

The Bushes always fawned over the Irish trash and craved a good cuddle, but never got one.

Look at the latest syrupy stuff they write about the Kennedys. Oh, I know. I know. Let us be gracious. Noblesse Oblige, Lavinia. But no Bushes ever defended their conservative base.

I can’t recall that Teddie ever served in the military. I recall him serving only himself.
