Stop this creepy trend

Nebraska is gun country, the sort of place where one of the newsroom hunters sometimes brings deer jerky from a white-tail buck he shot himself to share with colleagues.
We have no problems with responsible gun ownership.
But the sight of gun-carrying citizens and protesters gathering near locations where President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak creeps us out.
Stop it.

They need the reminder - there is an ultimate (earthly) authority in this country, and its not the federal government, its not the supreme court, its the people.
This point, more than anything else, is most likely the REAL cause for the complaint.

Why does the appearance of a piece of metal strike such fear and revulsion in some folks? I just don't get it....these are my fellow Nebraskans!
It's quite common for uncivilized tribesmen to believe simple items are possessed of magical power. It's childish superstition, but maybe they fear those pieces of metal will somehow render their herds sterile or steal their souls.

The guy who wrote this article isn’t a fellow Nebraskan.
Or he wouldn’t think it was creepy.
There’s a whole lot of security people with guns around the President all the time.
Who says somebody couldn’t slip in there who shouldn’t be there.

No one else would use the term creepy. That's true. Besides, it's not creepy at all. In fact,...it's downright REVOLUTIONARY!! ...I love it!

This will not be popular here but ... Just because you have the right to do something doesnt mean it is the right thing to do.
Some people are taking showing up at rallies with guns to be a form of intimidation. Maybe they are over-reacting or taking it in a way that is not intended, but responsible gun owners dont use their guns for intimidation.
Consider: If union folks showed up with clubs and tire irons at a protest event, and joked about beating up ‘scabs’, would you feel threatened? I think the liberals are seeing these shows of guns in the same way and liars like MSNBC are playing up those fears. We shouldnt give them excuses or video clips that let them do that and tarnish the legitimate and peaceful protests and rallies.

I really don't want to live in a world with every street, school and park not named for MLK being renamed for the zero. Well, we would still know where crack is for sale.

Liberal columnist E.J. Dionne asked a provocative question: "Try a thought experiment: What would conservatives have said if a group of loud, scruffy leftists had brought guns to the public events of Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush?" There's no doubt in our minds that conservatives would have been upset, perhaps outraged. Proof that the writer is either a flagrant liar or has not the most tenuous grasp on reality.
BTW, since when does Brooks Brothers count as "scruffy"?

“If someone doesn’t feel safe around law abiding citizens who happen to be armed, it may just be because that person is not a law abiding citizen himself.”
I too feel safe/comfortable.
But to a liberal, a gun-owning, bible-thumping, freedom-loving redblooded American patriot is an alien, one of the ‘others’.
We see Sam Adams ... they see Tim Mcveigh.
Go figure.

The union pukes carry clubs because they cannot legally carry guns due to all of their felony convictions.

“Liberals” can’t be trusted with guns,
because they are inherently immature.
They project this on others, and think
that no one should be trusted with guns.

Not a shred of doubt in your minds makes it true? As opposed to.....asking conservatives? Oh yeah, truth and all. Smarmy little cowards. Had they said "Republicans" on the other hand, I might believe it.
