Whatever problems we have with our politicians here in Texas, I *never* have to go to bed with the knowledge that I pay Bawney’s salary. There’s always something to be thankful for, eh?

“You said we would be allowed a public option as well as a private option. How can private compete with the unlimited resources of public money?” - Questioner
“You won’t have the profit making.” - BF
“There will be no ongoing public subsidy of the public option.” - What about it’s tax exempt status? Isn’t that a subsidy?

Frank says the ‘public option’ will get ‘administrative’ funding at the start.
Thereafter, it will be ‘break even’ and will get no additional funding.

It’s 14% of our payroll. How do you expect us to compete with our competitors when there is an 8% option?
Why are companies overseas? Because they’re being taxed to death here.
This Administration has done nothing for small business.
When are you going to help us out instead of taxing us into oblivion?

Fair enough, as far as that goes. -IF- given that government is not trustworthy (and IMO, that is the most charitable take), what should the occupants of the country do with/about their government? Give it MORE power and control? Give it respect?Do unto others as others do unto you.
Are government representatives empowering citizens or themselves? Are our representatives treating their constituents with respect or condescension and disdain?
As to what we do, we should change the constitution to limit the aristocracy to a reasonable amount of time in DC.
