What it comes down to is that if we're to have any success, we're going to have to push back harder than we're being pushed. That's just science, as any force in the univerese needs an equal or greater force in order to stop its momentum.
Guns aren't necessary - unless such is used against us - but then the left loses. On our side the civilians are far better armed, and the majority of the military and most likely the police as well would be with US, not them. The left loses in a gun fight - they must know this.
Violence isn't necessary either, unless it's used against us. I don't know why anyone so is bothered by the union/SEIU thugs. We far outnumber them and they look mostly like a bunch of middle-aged couch potatos. They shouldn't be much trouble, and they could easily find themselves on the wrong end of a beating they instigate.
Not that many of us thinking about going there, but those who are should forget about guns and violence - at least at this point.
That said, we do need the appropriate amount of FORCE, (or energy/mass so to speak) in order to accomplish anything. Political force, mass of numbers, energy of passion, energy of laborious activities, mass of organization, materials, funds, communications etc. etc.
Even if we are outnumbered or a minority, if we can amass enough force, we will win.
