Police called to Rep. Murphy's town hall @ 11:22 am by Eric Zimmermann
Protesters at one of Rep. Chris Murphy's (D-Conn.) constituent meetings yesterday were so unruly that police were called to the scene.
Murphy was greeting constituents at a Stop & Shop grocery store in Simsbury, Conn., when protesters showed up chanting "No national healthcare!" and "Dump Chris Dodd!" the Boston Herald Reports.
Finally, the store's management become so concerned at the protester's behavior that they called the police.
No word on whether anyone was arrested, though the Herald reports the management simply wanted the boisterous protesters removed from the store's entrance.
Murphy downplayed the incident.
"Any time I'm talking to my constituents in an unfiltered way I consider it productive," he told the Herald.
Conservatives are organizing demonstrations at townhalls across the country during the August recess to show opposition to Democrats' healthcare agenda.
KEEP THE PRESSURE ON!!!
Were they at least well dressed?
Kudos to you Congressman Murphy.
FREEDOM! That’s what is at stake here.
Will do. Going to Congresscoomie Kathy Castors meeting tonite. Sponored by ACORN and SEIU. She cancelled her regular meeting out of fear of concerned citizens. Should be eye opener.
Here is a long list of town hall meetings across the country that you all might like to attend.
Read from the bottom of the list....first dates are listed last. Please verify the accuracy of each before attending!

Rent a mob ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, right ???
I was there yesterday. Murphy received an earful from an overwhelming majority who opposed BO’s socialist health care plan. Murphy had the gall to hold the meeting outside a grocery store in a strip mall. He initially had people sign up to speak to him but that idea fell apart when the crowd became too large for a one on one. He then tried to speak to the whole crowd without any PA system. Only those closest to him could hear anything. The police then appeared and moved us several feet away from the store. Several signs of the small pro socialist health care crowd had the exact same professionally printed signs.
He had an aide roaming the crowd listening and talking to people. They gave him an earful. I informed him the federal government regulating health care is unconstitutional since it is not listed in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. He replied he had read the Constitution and it was legal for the federal government to regulate health care. I told the aide this meeting should have been conducted indoors with a PA system. The aide replied Murphy didn’t think there would be so many people. I told him that was naive since town hall meetings throughout the country were drawing big crowds. I asked him why he wasn’t taking notes. He replied he would remember everything everyone said. I also noticed most of the small crowd of Bo supporters were standing far back from the main crowd. I left shortly thereafter. It was a farce.
Well! I’ll never stop and shop there again!
I forgot to mention approximately 225 people attended.
Also, were they “clean and articulate”???lol
What a crock. This has NOTHING to do with party affiliation or political leaning. Dems and 'Pubs...Liberal and Conservative are voicing their outrage at this health care debacle.
The fact that this rag used the eeeevil 'conservative' label proves their bias. It's a Dem talking point that all the Pols are using this morning.
At least Rep Murphy has the public smarts to sound as if he respects his constituents. My rep, Suan Davis in San Diego, is only hosting a telephone townhall for healthcare. I signed up for her telephone forum, but it will be interesting to see how far down the list I am (if I am) when called.
Rep Davis is very busy and her schedule is set very far in advance with very important appointments. It is not possible to arrange a new public townhall at this late date specifically to meet with constituents regarding health care. (hear my sarcasm) I offered to set up the venue, but her office politely refused (me laughing).
So, Stop & Shop is running interfereance for the Rats.
