The porch is okay - the planter died. The shrubs will take time to heal. My daughter's smoking privilege at my house has been revoked.

It's an interesting map. Notice how St. Louis and Milwaukee regions follow the New England region using the word soda, and the Southwest follows that to a lesser extent. Coke has a large Southeastern influence. Some states are surprisingly diverse, like Virginia.

You Are Mountain Dew |
Ultra hyper and full of energy, you're on a permanent sugar high. Some people complain about your taste, but the do appreciate your power.
Your best soda match: Coke
Stay away from: Root Beer |

In Lowell, Mass. my grandparents always called it "tonic", never soda or pop. Didn't matter if it was Coke, 7Up, or whatever. And milkshakes were frappes.
And they also had this great product in stores called Zar-Ex, which was basically kool-ade, but it was a syrup. Just add water!

Oh my gawd!!!!! Someone was watching over you and your house. I hope she knows enough to not smoke anywhere near the baby, or even in the house. Thank goodness for your planter and shrubs.....guardians of the porch!
Is the mailbox out at the street, down the driveway? That would be a “safe” place...nowhere is good, but that would be safe.
