What I notice about this series of photos is this:
Biden was invited to balance the numbers so it wouldn’t look like 2 black men bullying a white man in the photos.
Gates’ face looks hostile and Crowley’s looks closed.
Gates’ family came dressed in very casual “street” style baggy pants. It looks as though that young black woman is wearing either flip flops or very skimpy sandals. They were meeting the President of the United States on national news and they chose to dress like that.
I’d caption this “Ebony and Ivory” because it was such an awful song and this was a ridiculous, contrived situation.
Biden: “Here’s one. An Irish cop, a race-baiting Ivy League Professor, and a Kenyan walk into a bar...”
Obama: “Excuse me, Joe, I think it goes - A racist cop, a distinguished professor who has overcome years of racial tyranny, and a HAWAIIAN walk into a bar.”
Yeah..... we having our own beer summit tonight. Except its inside around a card table. We gonna deep fry some catfish too.
BTW, I got a F250 SuperDuty that will yank the axles out from under that Dodge ;)
One news report that I glanced at last night gushed how great it was to have two black guys and two white guys! Smarmy. But at least if appearances mean anything, Crowley didn't look as ganged up on as he would have if, say, Michelle had been there instead of Biden -- Gates would have spent the entire meeting sucking up to her with flattery, as reports say he is known for.
I still say Crowley should have taken his mama to the meeting.

That particular professor makes $ millions per year. He has many books in print, heads a department, has speaker fees and television specials about black genealogy.
That was why this whole thing was such an outrage. He expected the cop to fawn over him instead of being stern with him as a possible intruder, when the cop was called there to protect the property. The cop didn't immediately recognize Gates from his PBS appearances and Friend of Oprah celebrity lifestyle.
Crowley, being a sergeant and an instructor, possibly makes around $70K in that wealthy town.

Crowley makes at least $100,000. probably more with overtime. cops are paid through property taxes and cambridge probably pays a ton of those.
