Dear Freepers, Don't Back a Losing Argument: Just Accept the Fact Obama was born in Hawaii (Vanity)
Self ^ | July 30, 2009 | Edward Watson

Posted on 07/30/2009 8:35:25 PM PDT by Edward Watson

The entire birther argument, that Obama was actually born in Kenya instead of the US, making him ineligible for holding the office of the President of the US, is a spurious argument. It plays into Obama and the liberals hands - they want this to continue since it makes regular conservatives and opponents into fringe wackos.

Not one of us would've looked harder at his legitimacy than Hilary Clinton and the entire Clinton smear machine during the Democratic primaries. That magic bullet would've given Hilary the presidency - and yet nada, bupkis.

There are many valid reasons to oppose Obama and the liberals, but his birthplace isn't one of them.

In Hawaii and in the college. How convenient. I had to produce both for my job.

They go easier on community organizers.

I agree completely.

If America survives what I consider to be the Obama Catastrophe, I’m certain measures will be taken to make sure a Manchurian Candidate like Obama will never happen again.

Ridiculous. She didn’t have to have her fingerprints on it at all.

Source?

Gosh. Maybe you should have read the whole post.

The source is Gary Kreep of the US Justice Foundation, who is handling the Keyes case.

“A million dollars in legal fees”
- no legitimate documentation to back that up.

I wish people would think through the proposed political strategy you mention. Think it through fully. Put yourself in the other teams sandals, gucci shoes and crocs. When would they initiate this master plan, what would the risks have been seen as when it was thought of. What alternative snipe hunts could they have used?

You’ve never hired a lawyer to defend you from a lawsuit?

A name of someone making the claim is not a source. Where's the evidence?

Bush is an honorable man, and so is McCain, however much we disagree with him. They did not have to disclose all the records that they did, but they did it anyway, out of a sense of propriety - unlike Kerry btw.

Obama is certainly not an honorable man and has no sense of propriety. But that is not a legal disqualification from office.

And even if he is clearly acting as if he has something to hide, it does not give anyone the right to force him to come clean.

Let me tell you something. I had a chinese cook for a room-mate for a month once ... I *NEVER* saw him but once or twice. I only knew he did live there due to the smell of cigarette smoke. I couldnt tell him out of a lineup, forget his name etc.

I'll bet you would if he had birthed a baby.

- no legitimate documentation to back that up.

I'm a primary source, having talked directly with one of the main lawyers in the case, one in which I have been as involved as a non-plaintiff could be from the very beginning.

Source?

You obviously haven't noticed. Obama's "source" is exactly what we're all trying to discover.

How 'bout you? Are you even curious?

“US Dual Citizenship: The U.S. government allows dual citizenship. United States law recognizes U.S. Dual Citizenship, but the U.S. government does not encourage it is as a matter of policy due to the problems that may arise from it”

Okay, I didn’t use the term “recognize” in any sort of legal sense. I realize SCOTUS has ruled dual citizenship legal.

I meant to say that dual citizenship doesn’t matter to the U.S. government. That if you are a U.S. citizen, being a citizen of another country makes no legal difference. Dual citizenship is not a special status.

And what is that, exactly?

“To accept any of those things about the President, or a man in serious contention for President of the United States is simply impossible for many.”

While I can be lumped in with birthers, I have never said that he was born in Kenya, because I do not know.
The same works with AGW skeptics, such as myself.
The AGW crowd, however, refuses to acknowledge the word “skeptic”, We are called DENIERS, in order to make US look like kooks.
The same tactic is being used in the birther denigrations.

I am just a bit skeptical that Obama is legal, but I have no idea.
I am not interested in ANYTHING but to see his real birth certificate, and put the controversy to bed.
All of his records are sealed. NOBODY knows ANYTHING about this man. Why is that?
Am I stupid or crazy to want a better bio of the POTUS?
Has any other president be this secretive?

What could be so damning in his records that he would spend
so much to hide them.
I could not care less who his mammy or pappy was.
I just want to make sure that he is legal.

Get me Barack's birth certificate, his college records and his passport documentation, and then I'll take the time to do research for you.

Cool! So we can finally clear this up. So you have the documentation that shows he's paid over a million dollars in legal fees to fight this. Post it here, man!

‘Just yesterday one of the Hawaiian stooges (at the vital records department) proclaimed she had been into the archives and seen the long form and could confirm Obama was born in Hawaii’

Not exactly. She said she saw the ‘vital birth records’. She specifically avoided saying ‘birth certificate’, though she did refer to a BC in her October ‘08 statement. For all we know, the ‘vital birth records’ she reviewed was the COLB that was posted on fightthesmears.com. Her statement clarified nothing, and probably created more confusion than would exist had she said nothing.

So you want to vote in the Democrats ?

The Republicans, warts and all, are the only game in town if you want to solve the current mess. Hold your nose and polish the brass, this is the only boat giving you a ride.
