Chuck Todd and company at NBC News are outraged that conservative talker Beck won't --or can't-- be fired for calling President Obama a "racist." They blogged as follows:
*** On the Glenn Becks and Howard Beales: The White House doesn't want to give Glenn Beck a bigger platform or extra oxygen -- especially regarding his remark yesterday that the president has "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture" -- so they won't comment, even off record. Beck, after all, is a radio DJ who somehow ended up getting a national platform to give his opinion on politics. What's most amazing about this episode is that what Beck said isn't a fireable or even a SUSPENDABLE offense by his bosses. There was a time when outrageous rants like this would actually cost the ranters their jobs. But not anymore; if anything, it's now encouraged. And all of this could turn ACTUAL journalists into the next Howard Beales. It's getting nuts that the folks who are creating the perception of an ideological/polarized media world are people who have never really spent their lives being journalists. Whether it's former political consultants-turned-TV execs or former radio DJs, or former California socialites, the folks helping to accelerate the public's perception of the media off a cliff made their livings trying to do other things. Of course, Beck's crazy language could have one unintended consequence: It could cost him bookings with any Republicans who want to be popular outside Beck's hard-core bizarro-land viewers.
So much for the national discussion on race relations that leftists and journalists say America desperately needs.

I’ve been wondering when Obama would silence Beck. He has been analyzing ACORN and Obama’s power base inside and out. Obama does not want the Sheeple waking up to this. If Beck keeps hammering away and exposing Obama’s agenda and power base the way he is, he risks waking up the people who might begin to oppose his communist transformation of America. I’ve been learning more about SEIU, ACORN, APOLLO, the Green groups and “community organizers” than I have from any other single source. Far more than I ever would from softies like Hannity or O’Reilly.
Obama has let Beck play for 3 or 4 months now hammering on ACORN. He is going to try to silence Beck.
“I predict that someday, Glenn Beck will replace OReilly”
Not soon enough!!
I will be very glad to see Beck replace O’Reilly. I have come to dislike O’Reilly of late. He says a lot of stupid things and he’s not a Conservative that’s for sure.
Anytime he has had Beck on his show, you can just feel the “jealousy” he has and he always tries to talk down to Glenn Beck. Glenn just laughs. He’s comfortable in his own skin, he’s real and in fact, if he had O’Reilly’s time slot, he would be number ONE!! O’Reilly, has become too much of a blowhard and bloviator for me. CO
I honestly believe that BO voted for Obama but won’t admit it. He won’t support any side, talks down his guests, and gets worse all the time. Glenn is a breath of fresh air. The only thing I would like to see change with Glenn is to give him more time. Many of his subjects need more time. Either that or cut down on the number of subjects so he can spend more time on the most important.
Agree completely. I am hoping for the day that he gets a better time slot. O’Reilly has really become unbearable. and I wouldn’t doubt he voted for Obama either. CO
When all the RATS were calling Bush a “racist”, I don’t remember Chuck Todd protesting and demanding people be fired. In fact, I’d bet Chuck was one of the reporters calling Bush “racist”. So, screw you, Chuck.
I think it would be hilarious if Beck hit back hard with dedicating a show to what the media said about George W. Bush. Seriously, he needs to do a show on it. There is evidence to back it up with 0bama’s attending a blatantly racist ‘church’ for 20 yrs. to the people he surrounds himself with to demonizing the cop against his radical friend Gates without, as he said, knowing all the facts! I think it is time to put the media tyrants on trial for their fraud posing as ‘unbiased journalists’!
They weren’t outraged when certain people called President Bush and Vice President Cheney fascists.
Amazing.
Chuck Todd is not a “journalist.” He is an actor who portrays a journalist in front of a camera, wearing lipstick and mascara and reading script someone else—brighter than Todd—has written for him. It's hilarious when these clowns become “outraged.” Their "protest" is so predictable because it's based on their partisan prejudice.
I would prefer Olbermann first. Matthews is somewhat tolerable. At least Matthews is willing to a Republican on, Keith “The Old”man only wants to rant on Bush.
From the 912 Project page: <
This morn. Glenn, asked for prayer for his family. Something is going on, that isnt good. We all must pray to our higher powers for him and the family.
He also distanced himself from the 912 project.
Has an incident occurred in re his family?
I was able to obtain a partial transcript of the Beck radio show that was decribed as above verbatim. This comes from the available audio at glennbeck.com:
"Without getting into any specifics, there has been an incident in my life, and I ask for your prayers for my family. Not even for me, but for my family. These people play for keeps, and they come after your family."
Hey NBC, Obama is HALF black, and HALF white,so Glenn Beck or any white person can only be half racist towards Obammay. And BTW msnbc should be declared a pure hate zone and fired.
Of course they want him fired. He is taking all the audience in that timeslot and Chris Matthew’s ratings are even worse than they used to be.
This also an intimidation tactic by the White House and Dems. They are using MSNBC as their mouthpiece because they know if the American people knew who Obama really was then his support would be gone overnight.
I hope the media and Glenn Beck don’t become intitimidated.
