Take that, "birthers," said Eric Kleefeld in Talking Points Memo. The House of Representatives has just passed a bill recognizing the 50th anniversary of Hawaii's statehood and noting the state as President Obama's birthplace. The 378-0 vote was a "none-too-subtle jab at the Birthers"who claim Obama wasn't really born in the U.S. and therefore isn't eligible to be president. And the real insult came when Rep. Bill Posey, sponsor of the "infamous Birther Bill," and other Republican sympathizers cast their votes for the language recognizing Obama as a natural-born citizen.
It's true that "a few misguided souls among the Right" have indulged this birther "foolishness," said National Review in an editorial, but "the birth-certificate business is not a uniquely conservative phenomenon." The claim that Obama was born in Kenya appears to have originated with a pro-Hillary Clinton blog during the presidential primaries. "Barack Obama may prefer European-style socialized health care," but "he was born in the U.S.A."
Sympathetic House Republicans and the National Review aren't the only conservatives abandoning the nutty birthers, said Alex Koppelman in Salon. Fox News' Bill O'Reilly has slammed birthers (watch), and even the infamous rightwing pundit Ann Coulter has withheld her support (watch). When even "some of the conservative movement's most notorious and recognizable media personalities" are denouncing these loonies, it must be getting pretty lonely on "the Birther crazy train."
So the congressturds pass a bill that says the sky is green and that settles it!
They have not a clue how stoopid they look, do they?
Oh like this smear campaign has not been coordinated in the poast few days. Seems like it kicked into high gear after Obama blinked and cancelled that soldier’s orders. I guess the lawsuits are getting a little too close.
Incoming flak getting heavier. Approaching target, over...
So SWITCH to asking about what “status” was claimed on his College Admission, Scholarship & Loan applications.
Nope.
Where are the Nordyke Twins’ birth announcement? They were born the day after BO, but their Cert Numbers are lower than BO’s. Why aren’t they listed in the newspaper announcement?

I believe that anyone who is not a natural born citizen is not eligible for the presidency.
In Obama’s case, an original birth certificate will prove that he is. All they have to do is show it.
So, I care about the constitution, and that’s why I care that he show an original birth certificate.
So close, that not a single member of the House Republicans voted against a bill that states that Obama was born in Hawaii.
Yeah, that and 0's grandmother claims to have been present at the frauds birth in Africa.
Very much to the contrary, Obama’s birth certificate issue seems to be growing rapidly. The news libs can’t ignore us forever.
I’d just like to see all his records..
The official line from the Feds is that UFOs aren’t real either.
Did wonders to stop those folks looking into it, didnt it?
You cant vote, nor shame stuff like this away. It’s like pouring gas on a fire for the people pursuing it.
The only thing they’ve done is give them a bigger target. Congrats!
They can probably relate to that.
No Republicans voted against the House Resolution. That means true conservatives like Mike Pence, Michelle Bachmann, Ron Paul, Paul Ryan, Duncan Hunter (the son) and Eric Cantor don’t care about the concerns of the birthers. Does blowing off the birthers make one a RINO?
Because they don’t need to. He was indisputably born of a US Citizen mother, and thus fits into the vaguely defined category of “natural born” no matter where he was born. And the attestations of the Hawaiian authorities is pretty clear that his original paper records show Hawaiian birth anyway.
This natural born business is not a settled legal question, and current legal thinking would very probably swing his way if it came to it, even if he was born in Kenya or can be construed to have once had Indonesian citizenship.
If I recall correctly the reason the natural born issue came up originally was because someone wanted his BC. The interesting question is what else is on his original BC. There is likely something else quite embarassing on it, if not the material for a constitutional question.
Cantor is a RINO.
