GOP Politicians Pandering to Birthers
Little Green Footballs ^ | July 22, 2009 | Charles Johnson

The insane conspiracy theory called the “Birther movement” is gaining support among Republican politicians. Now there’s actually a bill sponsored by Republicans that panders to these nuts. I hate it when I agree with Chris Matthews, but he’s right on this issue — this madness is embarrassing, self-destructive, and above all mind-bogglingly schtoopid.

And it’s spreading.

In order for this to work, you would have us believe that B.O. bought off the state of Hawaii, including the GOP Governor, the hospital he was born in, and also had to buy off wherever else he was actually born along with all the other people around. He would have to have bought off the schools he attended when a birth certificate was required at those schools, he would have to buy off the DMV for his Driver’s license, he would have to buy off every other place that requires it.

Obama is the head of a vast left wing political and money machine that used to be headed by Hillary, and perhaps still is. Doing the types of things you described is the purpose of such a a machine, by purchase, hook or crook. And the power of the White House makes it even easier. Wake up.

My goodness, with my kids, I have to bring a birth certificate even for them to play Little League.

My goodness, that's all anyone wants Obama to do to be president.

The irony in all this is that I posted this photo on Sunday and people were so nice, happy, sending me nice notes.

Now I'm the anti-Christ. LOL. Seriously guys, we're all against Obama, I just don't think this is the way to go about it and actually does harm to conservative causes. Carry on, have a good one. I'll stay away from this subject I guess.

Well, she maybe an Allinsky follower but she wanted the Presidency. I don’t understand why she wouldn’t have blown him out of the water with it. Or why McCain, at age 72 or whatever, knowing he has nothing to lose, didn’t use it.

Sorry, it doesn’t clear it up for me at all. Hillary wanted the Presidency bad....Bill Clinton even more. If this info was true on B.O., they would have used it. They are absolutely RUTHLESS people, they would have used it. They didn’t...that tells me there is no there there.

McCain was what, 72, his last chance for the office, nothing to lose...he didn’t use it.

Phil Berg, a complete nutcase that we all despise for his views on 9-11 conspiracy being an inside job yet we’re supposed to ignore that and say how great he is when it comes to this conspiracy? Really? I mean....really really?

Come on.

Wanna bet?

Any amount you want.

If the Governor of Hawaii releases his birth certificate in response to a signed release form from Obami, I doubt that a single person in this world would question it. At that point, they would be questioning her, not it. I only said it would lay the question of his birthplace to rest. And as far as all the rest of what you said, you act like this would be a bad thing. Also, this whole issue is starting to cause demoralization and dissension in the ranks of the military. As CIC, Obami should be trying to put an end to this because of it's corrosive effect on moral and discipline. That issue right there puts the burden back on him, and now you. Given that, YOU now need to explain to US why he has not released the document.

So he’s able to snooker even those folks running states like Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Alaska, etc...states with strong conservative principles...he’s able to buy all of them off too?

Sorry, read what you said....it screams conspiracy.

For the same reason we all hate people that came up with the 9-11 conspiracy, or the we didn’t land on the moon goofballs, etc, etc is the same reason why this thing makes so many conservatives look dumb.

Could be ~ I think the baby daddy was a would-be mover and shaker ~ at the TOP EDGE of African society in those days.

He ended up with TWO, not just one, white wives. He definitely understood status symbols.

Now, regarding the wives, no one said much about the others, but I have this book on weaving written by Obama's mother. It's a very good book. She was hardly an idiot.

Really, the only thing it tells me is that they didn't use it. As for McLaim, he didn't want to win the election in the first place, but that's another issue. As for Phil Berg, I don't give a rats butt about him one way or the other. He has nothing to do with whether or not Obami was born in Hawaii or not. Nice try at blowing smoke though. (Got to go to work now, talk to you later.)

I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out why people on our side denigrate and vehemently condemn us “birthers”. The only clue that I have is that many are scared to death that massive and deadly race riots will breakout all over the country if Obozo is forced from office. Is this the reason?

Nothing so noble. They're afraid of looking stupid -- in other words, they care so much about what other people think of them that they allow themselves to be manipulated by other people.

Birthers, on the other hand, are part of a group of original, independent-minded self confident risk takers: they've got more important things to worry about than whether or not other people are impressed or not with what they do. They're more immune to manipulation by peer pressure and pop culture.

There are lots of Democrats in those States, and RINOs (who do you think is behind the constant battering of Palin with ethics complaints? Conspiracy!). So is THIS a conspiracy? Well, let's see. If the birth certificate is ever forced to be shown, and then it shows that Obama is illegitimate, then, given all the sources you've cited, how could it not have been a conspiracy?

And that's hardly reversing the argument, because what's missing here is ANY argument NOT to show it. So, why not simply show it now, and nail all the "conspiracy theorists" once and for all? Wouldn't that be an absolutely massive political win for the Left?

FYI, conspiracies are the way the world works. Ever plan a surprise birthday party? Conspiracy. Ever team up at all for anything without telling others? Conspiracy. And those are legal conspiracies. You think criminals don't use the same method, too? LOL!

Here we have the Democrats completely stepping on themselves, imploding everywhere and the best the GOP has to come up with is a birth certificate argument?

Other than to occasionally mouth the dem talking points about factcheck.org, elected and appointed Republicans aren't diverting a second to the issue. The GOP hasn't gone near this. This is authentic grass roots stuff, and that's what scares the bejeebers out of Obama.

This is a twofer. Not only do we get to watch the Obama faction go into meltdown, we get to see their Republican political hack enablers demonstrate for the world what a bunch of spineless jellyfish they really are.

The GOP hasn't gone near this.

Of course they haven't. You have to believe in the Constitution, sworn oaths, and have the courage to put principle before politics to do that.

There are 10 GOP members in the HOUSE sponsoring this right now. I’d call that more than just grass roots.

Two Hawaii newspapers published his birth announcement (see image above). I suppose B.O.'s mom and dad knew he was going to be President of the US one day so they had them publish this announcement the year of his birth.

Seriously, people really really need to get off this one and focus on all the absolute destruction he is doing to us with his policies.

Sponsoring what? If you're talking about H.R. 1503, that's hardly a GOP movement. Talk to me when Boehner signs on or Michael Steele is out there pumping this on the talk shows.

H.R. 1503, even if passed today, would not compel Obama to prove natural born eligibility. Yes, it would come into play in a filing for re-election. And that's something. But there is zip zero nada chance the democrats will put this into committee, much less a floor vote. Again, my point is that this issue is not a GOP one, and this bill, however laudable from a scant few of the R reps, is not what's propelling the issue into the news. It's the citizenry.
