The Daily Kos has a post up quoting MSNBC personality David Shuster's Twitter page stating his show will be covering the controversy over Free Republic and comments about Malia Obama:
@mikelord @thejoshuablog. We will cover this monday: http://bit.ly/3pqS7M. But follow @joetrippi for what can be done on-line. about 2 hours ago from web
The embedded link goes to the Vancouver Sun hit piece posted earlier to FR
Over at Twitter, the leftists are all in a hypocritical lather over FR.
David Shuster is on sometime mid-afternoon East Coast time Monday-Friday.
I certainly don’t think so. I do think making fun of the girl is wrong. I think you can stand blameless if you talk about an event, an item, something that is said. Saying she was dressed inappropriately is both acceptable and in my opinion accurate. Abusing the parents for allowing her to dress like that is called for.
I don’t want to “play nice”. I want to focus criticism on what is done, not who someone is. And I want to raise issues, not poke childish fun at, or make racist comments about kids or even what their parents look like.
I really didn’t think this was a controversal position. Even racists know that you can’t just be racist in public and expect people to listen to your opinion on issues.
Clearly.
I will never allow conservatism to be "just like the liberals". We are better, and as much as it may make some people feel better to act like liberals, there is no benefit to it.
You missed my post 407. Was that too hard to consider?
Well dang! I missed being able to post something hot on that thread...... reckon “shootin” shuster would have a clue on HNIC???
And our attacks should have been directed at Obama and how he was using a state visit and his daughter to send a message, rather than making fun of the kid.
Well, Sarah's not a fresh face anymore. When someone runs for VP and loses (and, unfortunately, becomes an SNL staple joke) then it's usually not a good sign going forward. She may very well have enough to win the nomination, but that will most likely not translate to success in the general. I think we need to look elsewhere for that "fresh face."
“Saquin is fact-driven...”
You’ve got to be kidding. Several posters asked her for facts on this thread and all she could do is be flippant and use excuses why she couldn’t do that.
She also stated “I have several Vietnam vets in my family ... and no, none of the Vets in my family see anything offensive about it) “
I call BS on that statement as well.
I've only been here since last november (except for lurking) so I'm learning 1) not to get too excited at certain kinds of posts, BUT 2) to find out if someone is authentic here because we have increasing troll problems which I see every day. So, I am *very* curious about saquin's, uh, reputation for actual conservatism and honesty.
Just askin' that's all... Eternal Vigilnce.
If you'd lie about something you said a few posts ago you would lie about anything. It is no longer about whether you saw a racist post once. The fact is you are dishonest about everything. You proved it in black and white.
I believe the 8 years of coarseness we experienced from the left during President Bush’s administration have, and I know this is true in my case, caused many of us to want revenge.
These are very tense times.
As Admin posted today, enough of the 0bama leering at the teenager subject we need to fight government run healthcare, Cap and tax, out of control spending, national debt accumulation, a seriously mis-guided foreign policy and the Marxist takeover of our private industries.
You must learn to be exceedingly parsimonious and niggardly in your use of referential terms that may carry with them a whiff of bias or negativity.
Frankly I don't think Obama cares one way or the other ~ after all, he's President. His wife is a different story. You do get the feeling she's a burst or rage just waiting for a hair trigger to get going.
Perhaps I'll give it a try. (though I expect, given the current publicity, most here will be watching their P's and Q's here for at least a short while).
But I'll add you to my ping list if you're truly interested in helping to rid the site of such things.
JimRob doesn't share your feelings.
If he’s a cousin, maybe he’s learning to be a community unifier I mean organizer. :-p
Give it a try. If it’s as bad as you say, it will be easy to prove. People won’t change their style over one thread.
And make room for the non-Christians among us who don't get into that "heap coals on their head" stuff. Democrats don't care.
We need diversity in our big tent of a movement ~ and that necessarily includes a warrior class who simply do not feel the otherside are deserving of humane treatment.
The symbol itself is a combination of the semaphoric signals for the letters "N" and "D," standing for Nuclear Disarmament. In semaphore the letter "N" is formed by a person holding two flags in an upside-down "V," and the letter "D" is formed by holding one flag pointed straight up and the other pointed straight down.
It was used by people offensively, it was coopted by the peace movement, and there are many stories about what it is, including the chicken-foot symbol and the broken cross symbol.
