I certainly don’t think so. I do think making fun of the girl is wrong. I think you can stand blameless if you talk about an event, an item, something that is said. Saying she was dressed inappropriately is both acceptable and in my opinion accurate. Abusing the parents for allowing her to dress like that is called for.
I don’t want to “play nice”. I want to focus criticism on what is done, not who someone is. And I want to raise issues, not poke childish fun at, or make racist comments about kids or even what their parents look like.
I really didn’t think this was a controversal position. Even racists know that you can’t just be racist in public and expect people to listen to your opinion on issues.
You must learn to be exceedingly parsimonious and niggardly in your use of referential terms that may carry with them a whiff of bias or negativity.
Frankly I don't think Obama cares one way or the other ~ after all, he's President. His wife is a different story. You do get the feeling she's a burst or rage just waiting for a hair trigger to get going.
