8th century Islamic vase found
THE ASAHI SHIMBUN
2009/7/6
NARA--Shards of an Islamic ceramic vase--the oldest uncovered in Japan--were excavated at the former site of Heijokyo palace, municipal researchers said.
The 19 pieces of what is believed to be a vase more than 50 centimeters tall date back to the late eighth century, about 100 years earlier than Islamic ceramics found in Fukuoka Prefecture.
The researchers believe the vase was used during maritime trade to carry spices from the Islamic world.
Tatsuo Sasaki, a professor of archaeology at Kanazawa University, said the finding confirms that Nara was a terminus on the ancient Silk Road of the Sea.

I wonder if Asahi Shimbun is aware they just provided justification for Jihad against Japan.
Oh great. Now the Islamics will claim hegemony over Japan - after all Mohammed must have placed it there while riding on his flying horse.
Anthropologists excavating the site also reported finding a variety of body parts and instructions on how to build a crude bomb.
why not they the muslims built a mosque in Jerusalem and then said that it is their place even through it is not mentioned inthe koran
They now have built a big one down the road from the Vatican, soon they will say that Rome is their holy land.
Now the saudi’s are building them every where in America and we let them and yet not one church is allowed to be built over there.
I lived in Japan for 4 years, and I know a lot of folks on this board are ex-pats. They wouldn’t put up for 2 seconds with the “diversity” cr@p that is killing us in the US and Europe. In fact, I was just imagining someone trying to get away with wearing any sort of face covering on their official “gaijin” residency card. Thing is, I can’t imagine it—it would go something like this: “Take that thing off so we can take your picture.” I would all be VERY polite and civilized, right up to the time they put the muzzie’s butt on the next flight out.
Will they discover traces of blood on the vase?
They could tell it was Islamic because it said “76 virgins to whoever kills the infidel”.

Would it make a good “honey pot” for the cabin?

As polite as the Japanese police may seem, I’ve been told you do not want to end up in a Japanese slammer.
The oldest pottery ever found is (13,000 years old) made by the Jomon of Japan.
You just wait it will happen.
