VANITY: Possible way for Romney to gain Palin's support [mega baforama!!]
July, 4, 2009 | yongin

Posted on 07/04/2009 5:09:47 AM PDT by yongin

Many FReepers are skeptical of Romney's conservative credentials. They don't like his past positions on abortion, healthcare, and gay marriage. They feel his rightward shift on social issues to be less than sincere.

Many conservatives are angered by the Left's attempts to character assassinate Palin thru silly ethics complaints. They have made Palin's administration and family into side shows. The ethics complaints have driven her to be $500,000 in debt.

This situation might provide an opening for Romney to gain Palin's support. Romney could step in to pay off Palin's legal debt. He then could make a speech about how conservatives must unite against the Far Left with Palin giving her endorsement. If Romney does this action, would it make him acceptable to Freepers?

I’m not a veteran. They have my deepest gratitude and respect. Unfortunately, I spent my early adult years stuck on stupid.

A new party is a great idea.

Nah, it was my typo, it is too early ;-)

And I would never stoop so low as to call a Conservative “Mitt”...

Or vice versa..

So you think that if Romney spends some cash he can buy conservatives support. Sounds pretty sleazy. Like Romney. Hell no.

I will not vote for Romney or Christ or Jeb or any other “big tent” “inclusive” “reach out and across the aisle” Republican.

Enough is enough. The only hope now is for the GOP to run on basic conservative principles.

We need someone who will actually fight.

I don't think highly of either of them. They are just people.

I like Palin, and those like her, because they are internalized conservatives. I like Palin because she doesn't pretend she is what she isn't.

Unlike Mitt. Whom, at best, is lost, adrift. At worst, an pitchman opportunist gaming the system, and at this point in time, conservatives.

For example. Mitt saying he was a life long hunter. That was so sad, so pathetic, so reveling of his thinking he could ‘put over’ on the ‘little people’. He had no need for it, the left has just about thrown in the towel on being anti-gun publicly. Yet there was Mitt, a la Mike Dukakis on the Tank, pretending he was a beer drinking, pack horse trailing, gun nut.

It was a lie. He isn't that. He never was a life long hunter. He lied.

People should be true to themselves. Palin comes across as true. Reagan as true. Mitt comes across as trying to be what he isn't.

If you feel uncomfortable here because we don’t like Mitt Witt maybe you should start a Mitt Witt site and take all of the Mitt Witt trolls with you.

“I wonder what the consensus will be if Sarah has left to accept an offer by Romney to join him in ‘12 as a VP candidate or for a post in his Administration?”

By the way...I posted this in another thread. I think she is just brilliant. She is so far ahead of the pundints it’s embarassing.

She knows 2012 is too soon for her. She’s going to single-handedly deliver a handful of mid-term congressional seats to the republicans now that she is free to campaign on their behalf.

She would make a terrific Secretary of Energy.

She will be the nominee in 2016,(or more likely) 2020. And she will be the first female POTUS.

She’s an unselfish team player with amazing vision. But she’s also a patient hunter.

1curiousmind (RomneyBOT): "Well, I guess nothing’s changed much. Let’s rehearse.
If a FReeper dares to support Romney, here’s what we do.
1) Post a bunch of juvenile photoshopped images of Romney and flip-flops
2) Post a rehashed littany of RHINO (sic) accusations sprinkled with some more entertaining ones about dog abuse.
3) Attack and intimidate the FReeper
4) If all else fails, run crying to Jim Robinson.
Life is too short for this. Good day."

No possibility. Romney is a scumbag POS. He should follow Specter’s lead and show his true colors by becoming a Democrat.

FU Romney!

Moderates like yourself, and “Republicans”, in regards to this site, are like Missionaries at a Cannibal 4th of July celebrations picnic.

As far as what we think about Moderates? Take a look at who is in the White House. It was those Moderates who were instrumental in putting him there.

Any further questions?

My view as a foreigner:

I cannot see US conservatives en masse supporting Romney. Not in a million years. Romney supporters might be circling overhead like buzzards looking to pick up Palin’s supporters, but that just looks gauche and tasteless. And anyway, Palin might just use them herself.

For 2012 it will either be Palin or somebody else who didn’t run in 2008. None of the usual suspects. And it will need to be a heavy hitter, else Obama is in for a second term.

Not THIS Massachusetts freeper. Besides being a liberal, Romney has no more respect for contracts than zer0 does. See his record as Gov of MA for details...

(Make that “Bungee Gov” or better yet, “Seagull Gov”...)

Interesting. I guess even the Romney fans realize he’s such a pathetic person that he’d run around saying “Here’s some money. Will you be my friend?”
