UPDATE: Palin To Resign As Alaska Governor UPDATE: KTUU-TV in Anchorage reports that Palin not only won't seek re-election, but will resign later this month.
ORIGINAL POST: Gov. Sarah Palin (R) has announced she will not run for re-election in 2010, CNN reports. She's scheduled to make an announcement shortly.
The decision frees Palin to travel in the Lower 48 as she considers a potential run for president in 2012. A re-election campaign could also have been tough on the former vice presidential nominee; her approval rating has dropped from stratospheric highs, and a number of candidates in both parties are said to be considering runs.
Even if she won, the race would have been dominated by the specter of a presidential bid, giving her adversaries an opportunity to wound her politically. She's still fending off ethics complaints, many spurred by the "Troopergate" scandal.

I’m ready to be called a newbie, and I can handle that. What is uncalled for, though, is someone using that label as a tool to attempt marginalization of the poster.
I’ve got something to say, and I’m not about to cut & run at the first sign of trouble.
So hg, go spend your energies elsewhere, trying to scare people into shutting up or leaving altogether.

Sarah picked her successor for Governor of Alaska
Some of her previous opponents for political offices are now her most loyal backers
Many Beltway Bimbos like John McCain’s campaign staffer Steve Smith - and others - are panicked that Sarah will clean out corrupt professional Republican politicians and hangers-on as she did in Alaska
Sarah Palin can do that in high heels while taking out a fat RINO at 300 yards with one shot
And Americans (at least in MN) don't like folks who use the Governorship primarily as a stepping stone to DC. Just ask Mark Dayton. It sounds like she has a sympatico Lt Gov, so she's not really leaving Alaska in the lurch.
Bad press could make it look like quitting, good PR could make it look like a plus for Alaska and Sarah.
Time will tell.

Sounds like fun, try wearing high heels in the snow, lol.
She will be makin the talking head circuit, write her book and be a featured speake at how many rally for candidate the next election cycle.
Then begin a crusade against folks who call others "trolls" because they happen to disagree.
