A potential White House contender in 2012 staked a claim Sunday to rehabilitating the Republican Party in the wake of extramarital affairs by two leading Republicans that have damaged the GOP's family-values image.
"Any time you have leading figures who are engaged in behavior that is sad and troubling and hypocritical, other people are going to look at that and say, 'Hmm, they don't walk the walk.' And so the words and the actions don't ring true," said Gov. Tim Pawlenty, R-Minn. "It certainly hurts the brand."
Pawlenty added: "I think I can make a contribution, in a positive way, for trying to rebuild this party. And it needs it."

Pawlenty?
No.
If this is the best of what’s left, then thanks but no thanks.
Gonna need a box car full of nails. Just don’t let Jimmah Cahtah get near a hammer.
Notice the passive tone of Pawlenty. This is the same-old “we need to get along” crapola that has caused the Republicans to lose two consecutive elections. Also I don’t understand why Pawlenty is even commenting on this, giving the media talking points. I don’t consider Pawlenty a RINO, but he’s very bland and uninspiring.
We don’t need you to ‘rebuild’ our party Mr. Pawlenty. We need you to get out of the way if you are not conservative.
This is sickening. He needs to shut his piehole. Just because two republicans have screwed up, doesn’t mean our whole party’s ‘brand’ is hurt. What a mealy mouth opportunist.
Pawlenty just went down about 50 points in my favorable rating and I didn’t like him to begin with...lol.
If Pawlenty is the best we have to “rebuild the GOP” we are doomed.
Kinda makes you wonder who’s next. I learned many years ago to never ever fall in love with a politician because he/she will inevitably break your heart. Be it the local elected dog catcher or POTUS, I look at them no differently than I do my next door neighbor. They’re just another citizen.
If tim is the future, (YAWN), the GOP is going to have big problems. Someone needs to step up to the plate and lead, and quickly. Palin could do it, but she needs to stay out of the tabloids for a while and come back in about 6 months after zero press.
That’s nice. But the GOP has enough Liberals looking to lead. We don’t need another.
“As soon as anyone gives me the thumbs up I will certify Franken,” Gov. Tim Pawlenty, R-Minn, “In the mean time, I am the hope of the GOP!”
“We dont need you to rebuild our party Mr. Pawlenty. We need you to get out of the way if you are not conservative.

I so agree!
I am so sick and tired of the republican party falling for the democrat’s propaganda/B.S..
Republican party....quit playing into their hands ...you idiots! Next time they go after one of us...tell them to stick their “uninvited” criticisms up they bungholes! When/if they can ever get their commie lovin’ dysfunctional party on the right road ...then and only then will we be interested in their input.
Palin and Pence are the only thing close to the kind of politicians I am looking to vote for as presidential material. I’m looking for someone that can speak for themselves and stand on their records! Someone that doesn’t personally know Soros.
The left “gave”, “planted” McCain on our ticket...and the republican party allowed it. They knew he was an easy target to whip all over... by Obama. The Republican Party are a bunch of wandering sheep that have lost their way. I am not looking for a bunch of lost sheep....I’m looking for a shepherd...someone that can LEAD! I want someone that loves our country, our Constitution and won’t be apologizing for our country... all over the world.
Whatever it is, it doesn't impress me in the least. One thing that makes an impression on me is straight talk about the political agenda, and then working that like a bulldog. Ben Franklin was no family man.
That said, there are very few in the GOP who have the political agenda of radically shrinking the federal government, etc. They are from the government, and they are here to help. I fart in their direction.

Well chances are...your flatulence will never be noticed by a bunch of POS’s May I suggest you flip them the bird...that usually gets a pretty good response...lol.
You mean like he’s “rebuilt” the MN GOP ?
Discussion of “brand” belongs in the strategic marketing office, NOT in media interviews.
Truism: the minute a political party starts talking publicly about its “brand” instead of its principles, that’s a party in trouble.
Not that we didn’t already know that about the GOP.
Liked his recent stand on budget cuts, but signing law for LEOs to pull you over for not having a seatbelt on is a bunch of revenue generating, freedom interfering garbage.
Th GOP is finished, and good riddance. Instead of wasting energy trying to resuscitate it, build a real conservative party.
I so agree on Palin and Pence too. I also like Michelle Bachmann...ALOT!
I sure hope we can move away from the same ole, same ole(like Romney,Pawlenty and others that have already been rejected) this go round.
