USA is winning the final of the Confederation CUP, shortly before half time 2-0!!
My husband works for a computer company should point out they do all the Fire’s computer programming and such.
Soccer’s biggest problem in the USA is most of our best athletes chose baseball or football once they get to their late teens.
And the truly best talented are told to chose one to concentrate on.
My nephew played soccer, football and baseball growing up but as he entered his junior year of high school he was considered good enough to concentrate on football. (he is going to Northwestern to play football in the fall and study structural engineering).
It was hard to believe our guys made final, but this... I have to have somebody to pinch me really hard!
Go USA!!!
Exactly.
I think they are Brazilians.
They are famous for noise and goofiness, but loyal as any English soccer hooligan.
I’ve gone to Wet & Wild in Orlando. Great water park.
Went off season when it is winter in Brazil and here were a couple hundred and they ALL were noisy, Horns and whistles.
All wearing their national colors and rude and a pain in the rear.
But Der Stuka was great.
Pretty darn exciting - yawn!
Good one! REAL futbol cannot come soon enough! ;-)
Fingers continue to be crossed.
They need to be.
That was awfully close :-O
It's the most popular sport in the world. While I'm not a soccer fan, I can understand those who enjoy it, just like foreigners should understand how we Americans can enjoy our own arcane sport, baseball.
GO USA!
Donovan is still a puss even though he scored a fantastic goal.
Besides.
If there are international honours to be won, I will cheer on the Norwegian knitting team :-P
It seems like U.S. is only playing defense now.
(That having been said, Go USA!)
He is a puss but he’s playing great.
“I’ll always think of WV as home”.
Born in Huntington and left when I was 5.
Though not a fan of Huntington I love to get back to W.Va. and always fee at home when there.
Actually too the wife and kid from here to Bridge day last year.
How long are these games?
The game clock shows 66:00 played.
Some good moves just now.
Then again, time keeps ticking along.
25 minutes from full time.
The miracle inches ever close :-)
90 minutes + stoppage time.
Then again, if this ends in a draw and it being a final.
We will have 2 x 15 minutes of extra time to decide a winner.
Before possibly a penalty shootout.
But, that is getting a head of our selves :-)
Come on team USA!
