it’s obvious the US team is on steroids! And that will be the charge coming from Soccer’s governing body soon... :P

Go pick some wild rice and get ready, hockey starts there tomorrow.

geeeesh isn’t that the truth? Wonder if they’ll wait til the game is even over? :)
They’re amazing. Very disciplined.

Speaking of hockey, soccer would be a lot more interested with checking in my opinion. Or would that make them wave those little yellow cards in the air? (They are yellow, aren’t they?)
To: Ax
You got it Ax, he’s played like a champ.
We’ll see,
Donavan is also coming in to his own.
Almost looked like Beckenbaur the way he’s controlled things.
MAn o man what a thing it would be.
Dare we hope?
To: johniegrad
Sooo,
Were ya surprised the Penguins beat the wings?
To: johniegrad
(They are yellow, arent they?) Unless the player does something like kills the goalie or publicly expresses skepticism at the EU. In that case he gets a red card.
I would even watch a 43-man squamish tournament if the US's victory would anger the rest of the world.

Yes and so were the Wings.

So how long is half time? I thought soccer was above half times and the teams just played until someone, somewhere said time was up!

Are there no little white crumb crunchers to walk out with the players before the start of the game?
The fake din the South Africans are playing over the stadium speakers is just absurd. I guess the organizers are afraid their stadia will sound too much like libraries.
Landon Donovan has been just great; and this Altidore guy isn't so bad either!
45 minutes to go!

It would sure be sweet, especially since next year is the World Cup.
USA would have more “buzz” than the South African fans and their annoying horns!!

Soccer noobs....
US has surprised big teams with this wall/counter attack defensive setup several times before.
USvsMEXICO 2002 WC for example.

Blah.
Brazil scores a goal in less than a minute after coming back on the field.

My husband’s company got the contract with the Chicago Fire last winter so we have been going to some games.
Guys if you’ve never been to a soccer game. Go!
We took along our friends who moved here a few years ago from London who helped explain the game to us.
