I fly a lot. It's gotten to be such a hassle that I'm cutting down on my air travel, and even turning down a number of engagements because I just don't want to go through the ordeal at the airports.

What ordeal? If you ask that question, you must not have flown anywhere since 9/11. I'm talking about the security gauntlet every passenger has to go through!

If you have flown anywhere, you've had to get in the lines. Take off every bit of metal bigger than a dime, your jacket, hat and shoes, perhaps your belt … and, if you have a computer, put it in a separate tray, hoping for a reunion after you pass your body through a powerful scanner. If you have a metal knee or hip replacement or a pacemaker, you'll probably have to go through a separate line and submit to a "wand scan" and even a hands-on "pat down." It can be quite humiliating, and the process can even cause you to miss your plane, after all that.

If you've checked into a hotel lately, you know you always have to produce your driver's license or valid photo identification. Same if you want to rent a car . When you shop at Costco, for Pete's sake, you have to prove you're who you are and that you're a credentialed Costco shopper with a valid credit card (which they'll verify on the spot) just to get in the door.

When you get gas – if you can still afford it to – and you want to use your credit card, you pass it into a slot checker, and still have to punch in your zip code. Right? In today's world, you have to be ready to show valid, verifiable identification for almost

I agree 100% but if a non binding resolution is all we have to start with, it should be more than enough to jump start this mess.

Also there is this law from the first congress session 2 chapter 4 of 1790 which states:

“the children of citizens of the United States, that may have been born beyond sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as NATURAL BORN CITIZENS: Provided also That no person heretofore proscribed by any state, shall be admitted a citizen as aforesaid, except by an act of the legislature of the state in which such person was proscribed.”

None. It will not stand in a court of law. This is something akin to the mock trials conducted by students and debaters.
It might attract a good bit of attention though. I’m not sure at this point if that is good or bad. We are already being described as nuts because so many have jumped on this for publicity or solicitation of funds using rumors and/or false claims.

Except S.Res.511 didn't claim to define natural born citizen under all circumstances. It just said that under the laws in place at the time, the conditions of McCain's birth made him a natural born citizen.

So if the Senate passed a non-binding resolution stating that Obama was a natural born citizen would you accept that?

That was my first thought,
but then, the more I thought about it, the more it appears to be a real certificate.

I'm thinking that there's a FEAR FACTOR driving these very unusual events.
If it was fake, Obama himself would have released the 'long form'.
I can only guess.

If it IS REAL, then there's all sorts of litigation that could come out of it.

If one were pushing the issue of the Senate amending the meaning of the Constitution illegitimately, the Senate (and Leahy is always capable of another flip or flop) can merely stated that McCain was not elected so it is irrelevant re Obama's eligibility.

Democrats rule by 'consensus of the enemedia herded sheeple', so it is the court of public opinion to which they will appeal for ignoring their previous mistake. They would follow that with the bigger lie that 'the people have spoken and elected Obama, thus the will of the people is to be enforced.'

The criminal work of the democrat senate was to fabrciate a smoke screen behind which thier affirmative action fraud could be promoted to pres__ent without being challenged the way democrats challenged McCain.

Did you happen to notice that the Senate resoultion contained a well placed lie? ... McCain was born in a Colon hospital then brought to the Naval base. Hi Null, hope all is well. I just had a flashback to a conversation we had in Oct. concerning this issue. It was then that i had what alcoholics refer to as a “moment of clarity” and totally lost my faith in the system. I disagree. I believe that in order to qualify as a Natural Born Citizen for the purposes of holding the Office of the President, one must both be a citizen by ancestry (Jus Sanguinus) and by place of birth (Jus Soli)

it did not need to define under all circumstances. It clearly states in the debate that because he was born of TWO us Citizens that he was eligible.

If the senate has an open hearing at this point and a fair one, but it would haveto go as McCains did and be approved as Mccains was.
