So did Paul Krugman. Evidently, only charlatans need apply.
Is there a current list that someone can link me to that is current as to those sitting on the fence? DH and I are both calling and don’t want to waste time calling those that have already said they vote no.
Just called Bob Wittman’s (R, VA-1) office; he’s voting No. He’s reliable.
“Is he from Tom Delay district??”
That would be Pete Olsen (R). Olsen beat Nick Lampson (D) who won the special election after Delay left. Lampson was sort of a blue dog, but district 22 is pretty conservative.
If I were in there I’d say, yeah I’ll vote for it if there’s a placeholder in there for me. Then I’d abruptly use the placeholder to exempt my state from the requirements of the act and any and all further regulations related to the environment...
I would also urge everyone else of sound mind to do the same.
Thanks! Hopefully I get a job here and can come back next year after I finish law school. Where I’m staying right now is in John Culberson’s district, and he is, fortunately, a strong opponent to this farce. Unfortunately, David Price, who is my ultra-liberal representative in North Carolina, is all for it.
” walking one block to get a coffee 30 minutes ago was bad enough.”
Why didn’t you drive?

The Latest On How Congress Is Voting On Cap And Trade!

Now that I think about it, didn’t I read that carbon emissions are wreaking havoc on the annual coconut migration this year?
Grayson (D-FL) didn’t disappoint his liberal buddies when he stipulated $50M pork barrel spending go to a new hurricane center in Orlando.
What a weasel—Tried to call his office again—they are not answering—busy or going to fax.
For me, his indecision was pretty much equivalent to a yes vote—it was not a NO vote. He was probably just hoping, praying that his vote would not be needed & probably just waiting to see if he would have to make public vote—was probably a conditional/if needed) yes vote—one of the “enlightened eleven” that were being discussed as GOP crossovers.
True conservatives did not need to keep thinking about it—he should have stayed home from the luau and read the bill. Instead he probably walked away with more pork for his district than would fit in a doggie bag. Very sad.

A good, quick video summation of this insanity with Glenn Beck and Peter Schiff. Bookworm has the list of which representatives are leaning which way at this point, and Michelle has directions on how to get your rep’s number. It’s close as hell. If your rep is undecided or straddling the fence, get on the line immediately with a resounding NO! Melt the phone lines and crash the servers

My statement stands, your references verify it!
Who said something about bikes?
“Where Im staying right now is in John Culbersons district,”
I just live a few blocks over from the dividing line. They don’t get any better than Culberson. That district was represented by Bush Sr. when he was in congress decades ago.
We can't get through to Bono's office anymore.
DH called one office (I've forgotten which one). They were voting no and when he asked who he should call, she suggessted any of the coal states. That's where he started calling.
If you want to call Dale Kildee’s local office and encourage him to vote no:

Be polite and remind him that Michigan is hurting enough already.
just saw this on MMs site:
Via Andrew Moylan of National Taxpayers Union, the 14 undecideds:
Arcuri, Boccieri, Brown (FL), Carney, Dicks, Donnelly, Al Green, Kind, Kirk, Kirkpatrick, Petri, Space, Teague, Tonko.
I’m guessing these are Ds that are undecided.
“Hey, Soros, how ya doing today?”
He’s doing great. He weakened the dollar, and now all the nations are talking about replacing it. Way to go, Dr. Evil! Leftists rant about international capitalists, then they take money from this guy.
