According to the Italian news agency, the announcement is expected to be made at 2 p.m. Italian time (8 a.m. Eastern) from the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome.

I've seen a snip of the newsreel footage, showing the Ethiopian artifact being moved from the old shrine to the new one (the one now used to house the purported Ark of the Covenant). It was of course carefully shrouded in cloth, which allowed only a hint of the overall size, and suggested a rectangular shape. Anyway...
