Bible buzz begins as hunters wait to view Ten Commandments box
Ark hunters and Bible enthusiasts are buzzing about a report that the Ark of the Covenant, the ancient container that holds the Ten Commandments, is expected to be unveiled in Rome today.
As WND reported, the patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Ethiopia says he will announce to the world the unveiling of the Ark, which he says has been hidden away in a church in his country for millennia, according to the Italian news agency Adnkronos.
Abuna Pauolos, in Italy for a meeting with Pope Benedict XVI this week, told the news agency, "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as the container of the tablets of the law that God delivered to Moses and the center of searches and studies for centuries."
According to the Italian news agency, the announcement is expected to be made at 2 p.m. Italian time (8 a.m. Eastern) from the Hotel Aldrovandi in Rome. Pauolos will reportedly be accompanied by Prince Aklile Berhan Makonnen Haile Sellassie and Duke Amedeo D'Acosta.
"The Ark of the Covenant is in Ethiopia for many centuries," said Pauolos. "As a patriarch I have seen it with my own eyes and only few highly qualified persons could do the same, until now."
Bob Cornuke, biblical investigator, international explorer and best-selling author, has participated in more than 27 expeditions around the world searching for lost locations described in the Bible. A man some consider a real-life Indiana Jones, he has written a book titled "Relic Quest" about the Ark of the Covenant and participated in History Channel production called "Digging for Truth."

Well it’s a pretty big Hoax then.
Isn’t the Pope supposed to be there? I am wondering if they are going to show pictures or actually show the actual artifact on stage. If the Pope is in public it for sure will be in the news.
I bet it holds the Bamsters birth certificate.
I am too, and I keep reading over the article with the Italian I know and the Google translator, and I found that it is supposed to meet about it Friday, but it never says a time. Maybe the few english networks reported the time wrong?
I came across this...

Ethiopia - World religious leaders confer on global peace, security, livelihood of people
ENA - Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church (EOC) Abune Paulos disclosed that the assembly of the religious leaders of the world held in Rome, Italy passed decisions on issues related to ensuring global peace and security as well as on improving the livelihoods of the people living across the world.
Briefing journalists on Thursday at the Office of the Patriarchate, Abune Paulos reiterated that religious leaders drawn from every corner of the world thoroughly confer on existing global problems.
Abune Paulos, who is also one of the Presidents of the World Council of Churches (WCC), said religious leaders decided to scale up efforts in ensuring global peace and justice, assisting victims, providing treatment to patients, supporting the poor, and canceling the debt of poorer nations.
These issues will be presented in the upcoming Summit of G8 member states to be held in Rome, Italy in July 2009, the patriarch said.
Renowned scholars drawn from Israel, France, and Italy who are experts on Ethiopian history also presented papers on the ancient history of Ethiopian Orthodox Church during the course of the assembly, according to the Patriarch.
The papers presented at the assembly will have greater role toward boosting inflow of foreign tourists into the country, the patriarch said.
The patriarch said he held fruitful discussions with the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, Benedict XVI on issues of common interest during his stay in Rome, Italy.
end....
Tourism dollars? G8 Summit, seems to be the unvailing date.
I believe WND screwed up here...I read the original ADNkronos article, and this press conference apparently happened LAST Friday and the Patriarch seems to have backtracked on the whole revealing the Ark thing.

To my understanding, the Ark was taken from the earth by God. So how could it be found?
Just sayin’...
if this were a television series i would say the writers are tying up loose ends before the end of the season.
all that’s left is the climatic battle between good and evil (yes we can). the third anti-christ has arrived... and we can bring the whole bundle to the edge and all will look hopeless (yes we can)... until the arrival, at the last second, of the true Christ... saving us all, or not depending on ratings, just before the credits.
:)
;’)

Looks like another hoax.
Yeah, that was my problem in searching the KJV.
I’d forgotten the word.
Right.
My memory had mangled it.
Gee what a shock. Be nice if somebody would reveal something, even a fake!
