[Updated at 3:15 p.m.: Pop star Michael Jackson was pronounced dead by doctors this afternoon after arriving at a hospital in a deep coma, city and law enforcement sources told The Times.]

I think he just never grew up and thought nothing of having “sleep overs” with boys. Probably a normal kid activity he missed out of growing up. He didn’t molest them, but as you say, he left himself exposed to blackmail.
The underlying reason I believe is anorexia...he never ate and took pills. Reminds me of Anna Nicole Smith....

Many wondered whether Jackson was healthy enough to perform again when he announced his plans earlier this year.
Recent pictures have shown him being pushed in a wheelchair, appearing frail and gaunt and wearing a face mask while being helped across the street. In December, there were reports that Jackson was on his deathbed suffering from a rare lung condition, which his publicist denied.

I’m with you: I never understood the appeal of his music. I can’t think of one piece of music of his I enjoyed. Thriller? yikes.

Really? Are you sure..... I read a report just 15 minutes ago he was taken to hospital; not breathing when paramedics arrived, however no further word.
BS. Everyone bears responsibility for their own actions. The "I'm depraved because I am deprived" defense doesn't work. Prisons are full of such people. Yet, many have come out of such circumstances and not committed such crimes. His ability as an entertainer doesn't excuse his actions.
He may be undead based on a subsequent thread.
