STURM:My question to you is, outside the medical criteria for prolonging life for somebody elderly, is there any consideration that can be given for a certain spirit, a certain joy of living, quality of life? Or is it just a medical cutoff at a certain age?

GIBSON: But the money may not have been there for her pacemaker or for your grandmother's hip replacement.

OBAMA: But what we can do is make sure that at least some of the waste that exists in the system that's not making anybody's mom better, that is loading up on additional tests or additional drugs that the evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve care, that at least we can let doctors know and your mom know that, you know what? Maybe this isn't going to help. Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller.
And those kinds of decisions between doctors and patients, and making sure that our incentives are not preventing those good decision, and that -- that doctors and hospitals all are aligned for patient care, that's something we can achieve.

Lord Jesus, you healed so many people during your public ministry. I bring before you now, in prayer, all those who are terminally ill -- those afflicted with cancer, AIDS, and other illnesses.
|
Look lovingly and compassionately upon them. Let them feel the strength of your consolation. Help them and their families to accept this cross they are asked to carry. Protect them from euthanasia, Lord.
|
Let them see you carrying their cross with them, at their side, as you once carried yours to Calvary. May Mary be there, too, to comfort them.
|
Lord Jesus, I know and believe that, if it is your will, you can cure those I pray for (especially N.). I place my trust in you. I pray with faith, but I also pray as you did in Gethsemane: your will be done.
|
Bless us, Lord, and hear my prayer. Amen.

Thanks for posting this quote. I was looking for this earlier today. I have elderly relatives who are still active, but on prescription meds of various sorts. Obama (and sadly, some freepers) would yank their coverage and leave them to die—yet give any care needed to illegals.
Anyone over 50 will be too old.
Extremely relevant poster. I can guess at what it says, but not speaking German, I wonder if someone can interpret?
Baby boomers voted to kill themselves in november. Change.
Hope with all my heart that Sarah Palin speaks out on this.
We have to stop this! I feel like I’m living in bizarro world.
Yes, and Soylent Green too. In fact, it could be made with a message that would make the environmentalists happen. You know, recycle, reuse, yada, yada, yada.

Don’t forget the Time Machine. This government is Warlockian.
My great grandmother on my mother’s side lived to 99, and was in her own home (with some help from friends, neighbors, and relatives) until the week before she passed. She enriched us all, and still does in the stories we all tell about this remarkable woman. How dare some know-nothing con artist suggest we toss people like my great grandmother under the bus?
I did not watch it. Did anyone suggest some savings could be had by not treating illegal immigrants in emergency rooms for every sniffle and sore throat?
Purdue Pharma relealsed a CD of Big Band music when they were marketing Oxycontin to Seniors.
I didn’t watch it either, but heard this quoted from a local talk show host this morning. I doubt illegals were discussed.
Hitler could speak--and speak well--without a teleprompter.
Obama is a sock puppet, controlled by others who are just like Hitler. There are evil masterminds at work, but his is not one of them.
“Eugenics lies at the heart of the progressive movement. ....as has for about a century.”
Post of the day. It laid at the heart of that other notorious national socialist movement as well.
TChris: that is interesting.... how do you see it? how long was obamanation groomed? by whom? for what?
thank you
My grandmother can no longer walk and my parent’s care for her in their home. She’ll be 92 soon and her mind is sharp as a tack! My two youngest children have a wonderful relationship with her. The bring toys to her and read to her. My kids are a constant joy to her as well. I’m so grateful for the surgeries that kept my grandma alive 3 years ago. We all love her dearly and will miss her when God is ready for her. Thankful for every day we have!
