Variety's David Cohen saw the latest "Transformers" movie --- "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" --- and filed this report on its reference to President Obama, but not, at least in his eyes, in a good way. Cohen writes, "So as usual in these movies, the federal bureaucrats are portrayed as annoying if not villainous. The President's man, "Galloway," is a bespectacled blowhard who becomes an obstacle to our brave fighting men and their alliance with the noble Autobots.
In this movie, exactly one real-life politician is named: "President Obama." They went out of their way to make sure they named the craven, obstructionist president as Obama."

I saw it today and did notice that they named Obama and his rep that was messing with the US Forces was a royal pain. There were also two twin autobots that spoke ebonics slapping five to each other. At one point Sam asks them if they could read the alien symbols and one of the ebonic robots replies something like “Readings not my thing man..” or something like that. I was surprised that they got away with that. The movie was pretty good and I liked it better than the first.
Where was that interview, mtv or vh1? (Although after this junk, I could care less)Is she a baldwin daughter, or dixie chick cousin?
After 9-11 I might have disagreed with you, but after obama, I agree.
I thought it was a slam against Rumsfeld, actually.
The first movie spoofed Bush and Rummy, so Michael Bay may be an equal opportunity politician basher.
I’m cool with that.
“loud plotless mess.” It’s a Michael Bay film. Nothing more needs to be said.
Some women should be seen, and not heard. Megan Fox is one of them.
Well, except the Rumsfeld character in the first was one of the good guys. They just made Bush out to be a simpleton who wanted a snack cake or something in the first movie.
This actually is different. This is ... a REAL potshot.
I wasn’t going to watch it because it sounded worse than the first movie, but now I don’t know. Any movie that bashes Obama’s nature is okay with me.
Fox is a liberal but her statement yesterday about being with the real-life soldiers, even as extras was surprisingly refreshing. The article posted was by Sandrat..
Sounds like they nailed it.
Okay, I’ll put this movie on my (very short) list to see.
When looking at this, everyone should also consider the “wrangle me up some Ding-Dongs” Bush43 slam scene from the first movie.
Oh, Ms. Focks, you mean like, the founders of this country?
Perhaps you're right. Fortunately for me, I know strippers that are more attractive than Megan Fox (really!) and to boot they hate Obama & are pro-2nd Amendment. Bottom-line, I can easily pass on just another Hollywood dingbat that will be divorced at least 3 times by the time she's 35.
“and to boot they hate Obama & are pro-2nd Amendment”
Every stripper I’ve ever met agreed with my politics, even when I pretended to have different politics.
Read the comments. Practically all of them bash the author.
